Survey Reflection Questions

1. What was the reasoning behind using survey monkey or google forms as your
template for developing your survey? If you decided to complete your survey with a
different method explain the reasoning behind this.
a. We decided to use google forms because we have used it before
and we have extensive experience with google forms. We can use google forms
easily and effectively to make the best survey possible for our group. Also, we
believed that google forms would be easier for the responder to answer questions
and easier for us to collect information and analyze the data.
2. What format/structure did your group decide to use words/phrases with columns
or open ended questions. What was the reasoning behind this choice?
a. We used some multiple choice questions as well as open-ended
questions in our survey. We wanted to give the responders a chance to express
their thoughts. These open ended responses could also give us, as the surveyors,
opportunities to witness unique ideas and responses. This can help us to avoid the
over-generalizing our data.
3. Who did you decide to interview for your research questions? Did you tailor the
questions differently based on their profession or age?
a. We decided to interview students and teachers for our survey. We
chose these people because they will be most affected by our proposal of an
increased use of technology. Because of our audience, we made our questions
with the assumption that our responders are experienced with the role of
technology in the education at RRHS.
4. How did you decide if you questions were relevant and would acquire persuasive
statistics to convince the audience of your reasoning? If you did not do this looking back
are there any questions you plan on revising for relevancy?
a. To decide if our questions were relevant and persuasive we only
made questions that covered the main points of our argument. We only created
questions that we wanted to collect data from and analyze the data from these
questions. We did not add any questions that were irrelevant or we didnt want to
collect info from.
5. How did you decide on the length of the survey? Has anyone in your group taken
it so that you can check for mistakes/let people know the estimated length?
a. We decided to make our surveys concise so that responders will be
able to be focused on each question. Brian and Grishm has taken our survey and
has checked for mistakes and has verified that the length is appropriate. We did
not want to make our survey super long so that we wouldnt overwhelm the
responder and make our data indirect. However, we did add a sufficient amount of

questions so that we could collect and analyze the essential and necessary
information.
