Good: understands competency in theory and in scenarios and nursing

practice
To achieve this competency I attended all theory classes and applied that
learning in labs. Many of the scenarios in lab had a respiratory
component to them, allowing for further practice of the assessment and
implementation of respiratory techniques. In lab I asked questions and
expanded my critical thinking skills pertaining to respiratory
interventions. I also reviewed respiratory assessments from NFDN 1001
as well as my notes on oxygenation from NFDN 1002.
Currently I am applying this skill in lab, and it may be a necessary skill
to pass my CIA and to complete this semester. In lab we use respiratory
interventions in scenarios to help our patients to receive proper care,
and to learn how to apply these interventions using critical thinking
skills. These skills will be used in many of my future endeavors as a
nurse. It is a basic necessary tool as a health care provider to be able to

provide respiratory interventions as quickly as possible to conceivably

save someones life or to maintain their quality of life.
