and garbage services, you may be eligible for different bill. Each discount and its corresponding eligibility

Senior Garbage Fee Discount

The Senior Garbage Fee Discount is available to lowincome seniors who are enrolled in the Cook County
Assessor's Senior Freeze Exemption program.

Senior Sewer Discounts

There are two different discounts available to seniors
for the sewer service charges on the unified utility bill:
Senior Sewer Exemption and Senior Sewer Refund. Both
discounts require the senior to be 65 years of age or
older and own the property occupied as the principal
residence. Unlike the Senior Garbage Fee Discount,
these senior discounts do not have an income requirement. Here are key facts regarding eligibility and
applying for each discount:

Senior Sewer Refund

Only available to seniors who own and occupy a condominium as their principal residence;
Eligible for a $50 annual refund; and
Deadline for applying for the Senior Sewer
Refund is July 1st of each year. For details and

Senior Sewer Exemption
