Journal and Reflection from the Project:

To start off, we made our own group, which consisted of Ben Oliverson,
Peter Plazas, Dimitar Ivanon, and me, Hector Hernandez, this is due to the
fact that we all used to reunite in groups throughout the course to reflect
about topics and researches we did as assignments were due. We all were
satisfied of our group of 4, and we shared our subjects, which were
disabilities for Dimitar, Imbalance of technologies use for Ben, Addictions for
Peter and Immigration and Families for me.

When we were through the

process of deciding of what major topic could be relative and cover all of
ours, we ended up deciding that Technology was going to be our main topic
and therefore, talk on the impacts and advantages, as well as disadvantages
it has with families, disabilities, and immigration. We did this decision on our
first day of group meeting in class, which was on April 7 th at 10:00A.M. By
then, we decided that we were going to meet at the Salt Lake Communitys
Library on Monday April 11th at 9:00 A.M. when the assigned day came
through, we all got on time, and therefore we all brought many ideas and
resources form many information we researched, in order to provide the
relationships of the main topic within our subject, and as well to make a
unique presentation by slides of each one of these topics. We all decided that
we were going to be using Prezi.com to make our presentation, that Dimitar

was going to be the main editor and creator of it. When we were there, we
organized on how will the process of it will go through, such as who will start
it, continue it and finish it, to what we came to the conclusion of Peter
opening the presentation, up next me, Ben, Peter again and Ben finishing up
the presentation. Through the process of the making and deciding of things
to include on the presentation, I had always in mind to make something fun,
or different, something that will make everyone feel connected or related
with the presentation, or if not, make them laugh or get a better
understanding of us or at least enjoy it, to this, I came up with the idea of
using a Virtual Reality headset, which is a computer technology that
replicates and environment, and stimulates

a users presence and

environment in a way that lets the user interact with it. When I offered this
idea, all of my classmates agreed and we came up to the even better idea of
having someone from the class/audience come up front with us to interact
and experience it, in order to make it more realistic and show everyone in a
more provable way the impacts of technology on us besides just telling or
talking to them. We finished our meeting that day on the library by doing
more and more research of our topics and its relationship with technology,
for example, I saw how all of my classmates were doing some deep research
and investigation upon these relationships, as well as Dimitar starting to
build up and create the presentation on Prezi.com. The next time we meet
was at the classroom the next day, April 12 th ,at the same class time,
10:00a.m. where we mainly talked about on how our research was going and

all the great job we were doing so far, after that, we meet up again on the
classroom on Thursday the 21st, where we mainly talked about how we were
going to meet up again on the next Monday, April 18th, and also we
commented the fact that we had to turn in all of our facts, and images to
Dimitar who was our presentation editor by that same day at midnight, in
order for him to advance on the preparation of the presentation. That same
day, the teacher handed out the paper to register our presentation, which we
decided to be on the very first day on the very first position, we decided this
in order to make us feel less pressure from the class and from the teacher
itself without seeing any other presentation before so in the case of having
errors, we might have not yet told about them. So when Monday the 18 th
came, we met at the Library once again and we were very close to finish our
presentation, Everyone was doing a fantastic job, I think we all were always
focused on what we were doing, Ben was very dedicated on his script and
organization to his part of the presentation, as well as Peter, they were
commenting on how the order could go, if it was better for Ben to start the
presentation or not, but I rather said the opinion of just keep the decision we
had, of having Peter come up first, then me, then Ben, Peter and Ben again,
on the meantime, I was helping Dimitar do some organization on the
presentation, helping him get images and organizing some facts on my topic
and also highlighting keywords and important information on the relation
between my subject and the main umbrella topic of Technology. I told them
that I was going to bring the VR Headset and I did, I showed it to all of them

and gave them a great example of a video which we used on the

presentation. Set it up and made it ready to go for the next day. While we
were there, we noticed that we were running out of time and that we had to
go to class, so we decided to meet up again that same Monday at night, in
the same Library, around 9:00p.m. and that was mainly to make a rehearsal
on our presentation, where we did our finishing ups on the slides for each
one of us and we highlighted to time spent on each of the time we were
going to spent talking, organizing it and make it look more like 20 minutes.
We ended up doing a great job, and even better at the next day when we
presented our project presentation, I really think that we all did a great job
and therefor an awesome presentation.
