FAA APPROVED S60BR-S3-02 Configuration $3-AA, BRAZIL $3-19 ‘SECTION V - SUPPLEMENTS ‘SUPPLEMENT 3 MODEL 560 PERFORMANCE No Change DESCRIPTION The Electronic Display System is comprised of three subsystems: the Pilot's Display System, the Copilot’s Display System and the MultifunctionWeather Radar System. The pilot's and copilot's systems are identical with both providing ADI and HSI information to the flight crew. The multfunction/weather radar display system provides long and short range navigation maps, checklist and weather radar, and serves as a data source and back-up symbol generator for both the pilot's and copilot's display systems. All five electronic displays are identical and interchangeable. A conventional slip/skid indicator is attached to the top display to be used in conjunction with the attitude presentation. The electronic displays use a combination of manual and photoelectric dimming to enable clear readability under varying light conditions. The pilot's and copilot’s systems contain identical symbol generators which are the focal point of information flow in the systems. The symbol generator’s major task is to convert the information present at its inputs to video and deflection formats required by the IL display units to form the ADI and HSI displays. The MFD symbol generator provides the navigation maps and checklists for display on both the pilot's, copilot's and MFD display, and also serves as a back-up symbol generator for either side. The EDZ-605 operates with a combined display/source controller display system (DC- 811) where the display controller provides the means by which the pilot can control the display formatting, such as full or partial compass display. The display controller is also used to select navigation and bearing sources for display. Auxiliary switches in the cockpit are used to select alternate heading and altitude sources and to select reversionary mode. The MFD system also contains two controllers. The MFD controller provides for the selection and control of the MFD formats, modes and waypoint designator. The weather radar controller selects the radar modes and adjustable quantities which may then be displayed on either the MFD or EHSI. The airplane may be optioned with dual radar controllers. The radar will effectively operate like two separate radar systems. The DC-811 display controller requires separate course select and heading select controllers. Course and heading sync functions are accomplished through the respective select knob. Remote sync switches may be optioned with the airplane using standard remote instrument controllers. When AP XFER/FD 1/FD 2 is selected to FD-2, VNAV may be selected to FD-2. However, the VNAV computer will remain coupled to the pilot's altimeter (ADC) and barometer setting.
