INTRODUCTION
SAP HANA was previously called "SAP High-Performance Analytic
Appliance".
It is a Database is a full-fledged, in-memory, relational database
which is optimized for transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP)
processing.
It is an in-memory, column-oriented, relational database
management system developed and marketed by SAP SE.
It is a platform which combines database, data processing, and
application platform capabilities in-memory. The platform provides
libraries for predictive, planning, text processing, spatial, and business
analytics.

Early in 2015 and with much fanfare, SAP executives announced SAP
S/4 HANA, SAP had originally included the Simple Finance product.
S/4HANA promised that in the fourth quarter customers would see
another S/4HANA release, referred to then as Simple Logistics.
S/4HANA Enterprise Management is the new name for the product
formerly known as Simple Logistics.

Then expand your imagination to see that S/4HANA Enterprise

functions are similar to the scope of ECC 6.0. This is not a complete rewrite of the 250 million or so lines of code that encompass ECCthat

SIMPLE LOGISTICS
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:
Through an internal redesign of database tables, Simple Logistics not only
provides comprehensive information on inventory management but also
offers information such as data aggregation and intuitive reporting
functions that were previously unavailable.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENT PLANNING (MRP):

When companies implement SAP advanced planning and
optimization(APO), the standard business processes suggest that the
materials planner should first run MRP in the SAP ERP system for nonessential materials, while critical materials are planned in the APO
component known as production planning (PP).
Simple Logistics uses the capabilities of PP/DS to suggest realistic and
workable production or procurement proposals that materials planners can
use immediately.

CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT PLANNING (CRP):
In the SAP ERP system, CRP was limited to information about capacity
evaluation and capacity leveling, which offered little help to capacity
planners who needed to decide how and when to enhance capacity to attend
to production bottlenecks.
SAP Simple Logistics weaves CRP with PP to provide more granular details,
which greatly optimizes production.

AVAILABLE TO PROMISE (ATP):

Simple Logistics combines the ATP functionality of SAP ERP and SAP APO
to instantly process the information required by a sales team for end-to-end
visibility of customers' orders, transportation and delivery schedules.
