Knowledge of current research- A resident enrollment report for

Waunakee, takes into consideration past enrollment, current and projected
births, and overall trends in population and housing to determine future
enrollment and how rapidly future increases will occur.
Waunakee has increased in population by 47% since the year 2000. 1 The village
did only see a 2.4% increase from 2000-2010. The district has experienced an
increase in enrollment primarily due to increases in grades 4K-4 th enrollment.
However, the district has seen increases in all grade levels.
All four models project overall 4K-12 enrollment increases in the foreseeable
future. The Kindergarten Trend model projects the greatest increase due to recent
in-migration.2
Residential building continued at a steady pace in Waunakee during 2015, with
95 permits issued for single-family homes. We have experienced moderate growth,
with an average of 100 new homes per year. Officials have policies in place to keep
residential housing construction at an even pace, with a goal of no more than 125
new homes per year.
The village has had a boom of new businesses coming to the area thus, offering
more employment and opportunities for future residents.
Examining trends in recent housing development can help to explain how inmigration into the Waunakee Community Scholl District area may affect school
enrollment.
Ability to analyze data- External Environments has taught me to improve my
program by identifying its strengths and weaknesses by thoroughly reading through
all data. Its good to organize comments, concern, categories, recommendations,
weaknesses and strengths. Label categories or themes. I am able to identify
patterns, compare results and conduct performance evaluations. I am able to
identify strengths and weaknesses.
Research is a valuable tool, but there is great data in interviewing persons with
usable knowledge.
Recording my findings will justify my conclusions or recommendations as well be
available to future investigating or referencing.
My findings have shown a steady growth of new families with young children. Our
school district has good reputation as a desirable educational system.

I had a concern, wondering if the 4K classes would ever be removed from the
centers that now house them and transferring them into the public schools system.
I conducted a phone interview with Amy Johnson, 3 asking what she thought the
future held. Because of the schools overcrowding at this time and even with a new
school in progress, she did not believe we would see any change in the near future
by removing the 4K program from the child care centers.
