CREW citizens for responsibility and ethics in washington March 22, 2016 By email and first class mail Office of the Attorney General State of Florida The Capitol PL-O1 Tallahassee, FL 32399-1050 Re: Public Records Act Request To Whom It May Concern: Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (“CREW”) makes this request for records, regardless of format, medium, or physical characteristics, pursuant to the Public Records Act, Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes. CREW secks records relating to two political organizations affiliated with Attorney General Pam Bondi, And Justice for All and Justice for All. Both organizations were formed in August 2013 and are related to each other. At that time, Attorney General Bondi filed a “Statement of Solicitation” for each group, which is required in Florida when a cabinet member solicits or accepts contributions for a section 527 organization that the official established, maintains, or controls. In September 2013, And Justice for All received a $25,000 contribution. from the Donald J. Trump Foundation (“Trump Foundation”). A spokesman for Donald Trump's, presidential campaign recently told the Wall Sireet Journal that the donation request that resulted in the contribution came from Attorney General Bondi, and the Trump Foundation’s treasurer also suggested to the Washington Post that the contribution may have been directly passed to Attomey General Bondi.! Specifically, CREW seeks: 1) All records, including but not limited to communications, from any office of the Office of the Attorney General, dating from July 1, 2013, to the present, that mention or relate to And Justice for All and Justice for All 2) All communications, dating from January 1, 2013, to the present, between Office of the Attorney General officials, including all deputy attorney generals and bureau chiefs, and any employees or representatives of the Donald J. Trump Foundation, the ‘Trump Corporation, or the Trump Organization, or, including, but not limited to Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., Eric Trump, and Allen ' Kate O'Keefe, Group Urges IRS to Probe Trump Foundation Donation to Florida Attorney General, Wall Street Journal, March 21, 2016; David A. Farenthold and Rosalind S. Please search for responsive records regardless of physical form or characteristies. We seek records of any kind, including electronic records. Fla. Stat. § 119.011(12). It it is your position that any portion of the requested records is exempt ftom disclosure, Chapter 119 requires you to state the basis of the exemption you contend is applicable. Fla, Stat. §119,07(1\(@). CREW further requests you state in writing and with particularity the reasons for any conclusion that a record is exempt or confidential. Fla. Stat. § 119.07(1)(0). In the event that some portions of the requested records are properly exempt from disclosure, Chapter 119 requires you to redact those portions and produce the remainder of the requested records. Fla. Stat. § 119.07(1)(d). CREW agrees to pay up to $100 for copies of the requested records.
