Lesson Plan:
Introduction (Anticipatory Set/Motivation):

The student will grab a partner and participate in a native Caddo Indian dance, which will
lead into the lesson.

Process:
Information Giving: The teachers will present an informational prezi over the Caddo
Indians (food, religion, housing, art, and geography)
Modeling: The students will construct their own Caddo village which will include a housing
unit and an element of the following: food, art, religion, or location
Check for Understanding: The teacher will check the students notes via notecard and will
check the finished Caddo village
Guided Practice: As the students are constructing their Caddo villages, the teachers will
facilitate: offer suggestions, comments, questions, and encouragement
Independent Practice: The students will participate in a review using their choice of
technology
Closure / Culminating Activity: The students will discuss fun facts or things they learned
about the Caddo Indians

Accommodations:
1.

For ELL students, provide print outs of Power Point


presentation, as well as personalized instructions, in the
student's primary language.
2. For hearing impaired students, provide print out of
instructions and include subtitles/text on all auditory
presentations.

Enrichment/Extension: Students can visit the webpage to


learn more about the Caddo tribe
Assessment/Evaluation:

Assessment will first be through index cards provided.


Student will be assessed by showing their final project; the teacher will know
the students level of understanding by depth of their final project.
