The House of Representative member in which I am reporting on is a

Mr. Jeff Farrington. Mr. Farrington represents the 30th district of Michigan
which covers; Sterling Heights, Macomb township, Utica, and Shelby
Township. Mr. Farrington grew up in Utica MI, the district in which he
represents. Representative Farrington is right now elected into his third term
of office where he started back in 2013. He graduated with his masters
degree in Science of Management from Walsh College. After college he
served as a vice president of a national staffing firm. He is advocating for
jobs in the state of Michigan, as these are one of his most important issues
he deals with. Mr. Farrington represents the 30th district with the upmost
sincerity as he grinds for the city he represents.
Mr. Farrington is a member of the committee of financial Liability
Reform, Transportation and Infrastructure, and also the committee of Work
force and Talent Development. From being a committee member he has
discretion on certain bills, and he can revise a bill, add to a bill and also vote
whether he believes the bill should become a law. Mr. Farrington also serves
as chair of the committee of Tax Policy. He serves as the person in charge of
this committee, he assembles meetings, and gets his other committee
members to be active in deliberation processes and participate in voting.
Jeff Farrington has a list of 13 bills that he has sponsored or cosponsored in his young career as a Representative. A multitude of bills he
has sponsored, look to highlight areas surrounding sales tax, local income

tax, administration taxation, individual income tax and so on. He also

addresses areas such as; Environmental protection, local government,
administrative procedure, and food. Expressing from the overwhelming
amount of bills proposed by Farrington, as well as being a chairman of this
certain committee, Jeff Farrington shows extreme passion towards tax policy
and tax payers. Jeff Farrington has proposed many bills to constrain
government spending on specific areas of tax relief. Also Jeff Farrington
explains on his website that he intends to introduce new legislation that
basically draws back the income tax rate by 0.1 percent, every year there is
general fund growth over $300 million dollars. This tax relief, although
seeming small, will be a huge help in Michigan drawing precious dollars back
into residents pockets. Jeff Farrington has a long history of voting in favor of
bills. since 2013. Mr. Farrington voted 87 yeas, to 11 Nays amongst bills he
held discretion over in his career. Personally I believe that he doesnt raise
enough question towards bills, certain bills he voted for were not approved.
Furthermore, I believe that this process of getting to know our state
Representatives was a very informative task. I learned more about the
people that reflect the community I Iive in, and I believe that it should be
common knowledge to understand who we are voting for and what
viewpoints they take. If we vote for someone that does not share the same
viewpoints as us, we will have no voice in the things we want. I think it is
also very crucial to conduct research on people we vote for, to make sure

they are a legitimate candidate and someone we want representing our

community.
