Once students finish the counting
worksheet, they will do their graphic
organizer of circling the correct number
of animals in each box listed. The
teacher will read the number of which
animal that needs to be circled aloud,
and the students are responsible for
circling the correct number indicated.
(If students are struggling with their
counting process, the teacher can guide
them in the correct direction.)

number worksheet of a farm animal.

The teacher will walk around the
classroom to look at the students work.
Their worksheets being filled out
correctly should show the teacher that
they understand the material in the
lesson.
Once the students are finished with
their coloring worksheet (or have put it
away to be finished another day) the
teacher will have the students think
about their favorite farm animal, one
that was in the story, on the worksheet,
or that they have seen in real life. The
class will then engage in a strategy
called, Move It! where they will take
turns acting out their favorite animal
for the class to guess.
