Karate

This Class is conducted in a traditional dojo environment. Men and women, old and young, all train together
without distinction. What an excellent activity to achieve good physical condition
as well as gain an appreciation for the vulnerabilities as well as the beauty and
capabilities of the human body and mind. No experience necessary.

from metal sheet and wire. Brass, copper, and
tools are provided. *New students need to attend

the first class for a safety discussion and a

Glass

Fusing and
Slumping Glass

This class is an introduction to the wonderful

world of kiln-formed glass. Layers of compatible
glass are fused together to create artistic
objects including jewelry, tiles, and picture
frames. Glass can also be slumped into or
over molds to create barrettes, small plates,
and votive candle holders. Glass cutting,
compatibility testing, use of frits (crushed
glass) and metal inclusions are among the
techniques presented and Information on the
use of kilns and firing processes is also offered.
More advanced projects will be available to
continuing students. A supply list will be given
out at the first class meeting.
