Alberto Contador presentó en Pinto ‘su’

equipo de MTB para la Titan Desert

Hoy se ha celebrado en Pinto la presentación oficial del equipo

‘Specialized-Contador-MSF’ que tomará parte en la próxima edición
de la Titan Desert y que cuenta con el apoyo de Alberto Contador y la
participación de su hermano Fran.

Alberto acudió al acto para apoyar una iniciativa cuya finalidad es

recaudar dinero para apoyar el Fondo de Emergencias de Médicos Sin
Fronteras. Los aficionados podrán comprar cada kilómetro que haga
el equipo, a razón de 10 euros, directamente en la página de MSF (
http://www.msf.es/landing/donativo-fondoem-spe-10.aspx ).

Este es el segundo año consecutivo en el que el equipo de Contador

correrá la Titan Desert, que en 2009 contó con sólo 4 corredores, pero
que en 2010 estará integrado por 14, todos ellos amigos de Alberto
Contador provenientes de Madrid, Andalucía y Catalunya.

“Cuando me contaron el proyecto, acepté rápidamente, tanto por

Specialized como por Médicos Sin Fronteras, porque es una gran
idea”, dijo Alberto Contador. “El único consejo que puedo darle a mi
hermano y a todos los demás es que vayan a disfrutar. Es una carrera
muy bonita y este año tienen la motivación extra de Médicos Sin
Fronteras, así que creo que será un éxito”.

Alberto comentó que, tal vez en el futuro, se lance también a correr la

Titan Desert. “Quién sabe, igual en el futuro es posible”, dijo. “Ahora
es imposible tanto por mi calendario como por los riesgos que
implica, pero igual cuando deje el ciclismo pueda correrla, como hace
Jalabert, con el que ya he estado hablando de esta carrera. Por ahora
se la dejo a mi hermano y a mis amigos”.

Alberto Contador viajará mañana a Burgos, donde el miércoles da

comienzo la Vuelta a Castilla y León, su próxima cita. “Es un recorrido
que me gusta y esta vuelta se me ha dado siempre bien”, comentó.
“Este año está más retrasada en el calendario y eso no es bueno para
las alergias, pero las previsiones anuncian lluvia y eso me vendrá
bien”.

Alberto destacó del recorrido la contra reloj de 15 kilómetros. “Es una

distancia que me viene bien, lo mismo que la llegada al Morredero.
No lo conozco, pero me han dicho que es duro, aunque no constante,
sino de rampas”.
Sobre el equipo Astana, Contador dijo estar muy contento. “Está
funcionando muy bien, porque mi equipo siempre tiene un reto difícil
en carrera, controlar, y estamos pasando bien la temporada,
controlando cada carrera por fuerza o aprovechando las situaciones
tácticas. Veo a todos los corredores muy ilusionados y estoy contento
porque vamos a tener problemas para hacer la lista del Tour ya que
hay muchos corredores con posibilidades de ir”.

Contador contestó finalmente a algunas preguntas sobre Armstrong y

su reciente cambio de calendario, que hará que no vuelvan a coincidir
antes del Tour. “Cada uno elige el calendario que cree más
adecuado”, aseguró sin querer entrar en polémica. “Creo que su
única motivación es en función de su planificación. Cada uno tiene su
forma de prepararse. A mí me gusta competir bastante a principio de
temporada y aunque su calendario no es el que más me gustaría, él
habrá echado sus cuentas”, concluyó.
