Prerequisite Skills:
Identify ordered pairs on a coordinate plane
UNIT OVERVIEW: In this unit students will learn the concept of a function (exactly one value to each input) any why
functions are necessary for describing everyday life. They will have to determine if a relation is a function using different
representations (graphs, tables, equations, ordered pairs & mapping diagrams). They will have to describe functions in
different forms and determine if they are linear/non-linear, increasing/decreasing & proportional/non-proportional. They will
also have to analyze/sketch qualitative graphs comparing two quantities that represent real-life situations.
