- Darren Hassan. Businessman, Adelaide. "People who come here without any
documentation by boat, should immediately be expatriated".
- Gleny Raye. Singer; Newcastle. "I think that we have the capacity, perhaps, to
take more refugees".
- Adam Harter. Cronulla Lifeguard. "We're spending millions of dollars on housing
these criminals".

- "I am going to take your purses and your wallets, most refugees can't carry a
lot with them". - David.
- "That was hard to do, I think the comfort zone is out the window now. - Raye.
- "Just so peaceful, you've got your own space. In a little utopia. This is the
beautiful, detention centre they've got everything there. I could of gone over
there and shot the lot with a gun isn't that terrible. I dont care how hard it is
where they come from. I dont think they've got the right to come out here and
demand all this freedom all this generosity that the Australian government hands
them on a golden platter. - Raye's rant.

- "It doesn't matter if refugees that come by boat, more desperate have less
choices." - Gleny
- "People who come here by boat, 99.7% of them have a) no paperwork and b)
have no intention of declaring themselves at the local customs office". - Adam
- "Why are they then taking that boat journey to Australia, this tells me that they
are nothing but economic refugees". - Darren.
- "We need to send a tougher message that this is not on and you don't do that" Darren.

- "Seeing children drown..It's awful I couldn't imagine putting my kids into that

now they're everywhere. You go to blacktown and its literally Blacktown." Raquel.

Africans. If it was up to me and I was in charge, I'd send them back." - Raquel.
- "I feel a bit out of place, bit uncomfortable." - Raquel.

- "As Muslims, there's no alcohol (Narrator) Red wine will go well." - Raquel.
- "I really like the green stuff, I like it all. I really didn't like that food, but I didn't
want to say that to them, didn't want to be rude." - Raquel.
- "I don't like african people anyway, so its kinda hard to pretend to be nice". Raquel.
- "I had no idea, that it was so bad. I mean to have a sick baby, and cause she
got no money the baby dies, how do you live with that, its not easy for me to
hear that, umm I have a lot of trouble carrying pregnancies through and umm so
I do understand where shes coming from and know how hard it is to move on." Raye.
- "I just worry about all that bad stuff, I dont know how I would cope with it,
Seeing that it would make me quite upset, I'm quite nervous. - Raquel.
- "Its our culture, we cannot change your culture, to make our culture look like
us". - Wasni.
- "We are all allowed to have an opinion, its a free country." - Gleny.
- "I definitely argue my point, I never shy away from a good debate, I'd love to
have a refugee come and stay in this house with me. Because I think that the
detention centres are inhuman." - Gleny.

- "I was sick, tired. Soo, its hard. I don't like to remember that days. PTSD." Wasni.
- "60 people on the one boat, with children and women. I think in my opinion its
a crime to bring the children." - Wasni.
- "Do you feel for people coming here legally with the right channels." - Adam.

- "If you say you are going to this place, you can get peace. There is no peace.

- "That doesn't meant that every other African refugee is going to be nice as this
family. Im not going to go out and meet with African friends. That's not the way it
is." - Raquel.
- "I needed a lot of answers and heard their story. Now I feel so whole because
they are the true refugees. They're the ones that we should be supporting and
helping, not these boat people. They should do it the right way go through the
refugee camp." - Raye.
- "Once you meet them, you realise that they are just like your brothers and your
sisters, like to have fun like to have a laugh." - Gleny.
- "On a personal level, they are good guys, decent human beings. I still dont
think risking your life on a boat is the way to go. These guys were already safe
somewhere." - Darren.
