had well deserved votes too)

Kellyville Black continued their winning streak,

claiming a set victory over Greystanes 6-0.

With the curtain raiser being a cracker between the Reds

and Whites, with the Reds pinching a 3-2 result, the
chance was there for the Blacks to open up a gap at the
top of the table.
In the first round (so I was told) the Greys had pinched a
goal and defended stoutly to steal a 1-0 victory. The
Blacks were not going to let this happen again.
The first half was mostly the Blacks, with good ball
movement as the Greys sat back to defend and wait for
counter attacking opportunities.
The machine rumbled on as good ball movement kept
the Greys running around...chances would come.
A rare foray forward from the Greys saw the ball fall to
the feet of the striker, who hit a sweetly struck shot from
10 yards - Nolan putting up the paw, with cat like reflexes
was yet another outstanding stop and was critical as the
Greys would have dug deeper if they had gone ahead superb!
Adam Hendry worked all day and also read a situation
that saved the Blacks from being caught on the counter.
Chances were being created by the Blacks, with plenty of
players getting in good scoring positions and getting in
between and in behind the Greys two banks of four.
Within a couple of minutes of the halftime break, Noons
made another attacking raid down the right...looking up
he saw Appsy o the line and so chipped him with a well
disguised shot that looked a lot like a cross. His
celebration was muted as he tried to figure out why
everybody was surprised he would score from near the
sideline....
With Vic having celebrated the arrival of Kristian last
week, nobody should have been surprised at halftime
when we saw a dummy or two go flying - just probably a
little surprised it wasnt from one of the babies! (Congrats
again Vic, on behalf of all)
The second half saw the rewards for the focused first
half. A minute in, Stonie overlapped down the left and

put a cross in that landed on the foot of the new Dad, the
keeper left standing as the half volley hit the side netting.
A couple of minutes later and Naya was released down
the right, by Donny. He played a perfect square ball that
had everybody hold their breath as Trev tapped in with
the right boot.
Ten minutes later, a loose ball near the d fell to the feet
of Trev, who finished in the bottom right through
legs....and was quickly taken o by the coach before he
risked a match report ALL about Trev!
The subs slotted straight in - Rich refusing to chase back
in defence - he was replacing yours truly.
With the Greys struggling to get any ball with the
midfield dominating possession with some outstanding
touches...Alecs loving the space as he played Donny,
Jaime etc over and over - a man of the match display.
Dame was looking to a big training session on
Wednesday, so went looking for a sub...only problem the
ball wouldnt go out! He took possession on half way,
turned and dribbled all the way o the sideline!!! Sub
made!
He then got to enjoy the mid match limbo show - first
Jaime got a hand to get low from the Greys backline and
the ref blew his whistle signalling a special guest limbo
champion - Donny? Donny was more than happy to
perform as he showed he could kick a ball whilst leaning
back - everybody laughed and cheered at this amazing
skill, knowing it would probably be the last time he was
invited to display his special skills. (Outside of this his
soccer game was outstanding!)
There was more to come however as Jez decided he
would show his ability to pinpoint a 40 yard cross-field
pass (quality)...on to the feet of Richie, who rewarded it
by cutting in on to his right and nailing a shot into the
back of the net.
Finally Jaime scored the best finish of the match, as he
ran at the defence again, after a nice ball from Donny. As
the keeper advanced Jaime chipped him from 25 yards class!

KELLYVILLE OVER 35/1S!

AUGUST 7, 2011

Cant beat hunger!

Goal Scorers

Man of the Match

Donny, Doriano, Dan

Thommo

Kellyville bounced back today from

their mid-week disappointing loss to
Greystanes with a win full of hunger,
courage and pride. This game reflected
the earlier season effort against Castle
Hill and showed that this team is
unbeatable when they are hungry for a
result.
Kellyville went into the game with only 11
players (with 4-5 carrying injury). They were
forced to play players out of position, with the
backline shaping up as Harry, Vlad, Coops and
Trev.
A dominant opening twenty minutes, saw
some brilliant football played, with chance
after chance being created by Kellyville. Vic,
Dan, Naya, Thommo and Donny tearing them
apart. Donny playing on one foot was again
brilliant - winning ball and distributing pin
point passes. Coops, Trev and Harry were able
to join in attacks as KV moved the ball nicely.

TRAINING 7:30 Tuesday

Unfortunately a mistake on half way from

Trev saw Dundas take the lead. Trev forgetting
he was playing on one leg at left back as he
dummied the ball to turn towards goal (his
own!).
Kellyville lifted heading towards halftime.
Donny breaking into the box to be brought
down for a penalty. He hopped up to slot
home in the top corner. 1-1 at the half.
Thommo subbed o injured at half time....
only to hop back on to stand at right back
when he remembered we only had 11.
Five minutes in and Kellyville had given
every player a touch with some sublime
possession football. Naya played a brilliant
touch to Harry standing on the right

Tuesday (injured or not)

touchline. Harry dummied to come inside and
took the ball to the outside. He accelerated
down the wing and rounded another defender
to get to the byline. He then pinpointed a pass
to Doriano breaking into the box (on one leg)
to finish. 2-1 up.
The call went out that the next 5 minutes
was crucial. The Kolts probably should have
said the next 30 seconds as Dundas broke
from the kick o and caught everyone
napping (or recovering!). 2-2.
Ten minutes later Naya had to go o and
minutes later Doriano was flattened from
behind and went o - Vlad figured that left
the Ville with 9 time to dig in. In fact it left
KV with Thommo, Trev and Donny on one leg
and 6 players (5 backing up from a game 48
hours earlier). THE EFFORT AT THIS
POINT WAS UNBELIEVABLE!
Doriano found something to come back
on and slot in at left back. A free kick to
Dundas from 25 yards saw Nolan produce one
of the saves of the season as he went flying
one handed to stop a top corner finish.
Not only was Kellyville holding on, they
wanted to win it! A break saw Dan running at
players in the box.... and beating them. From
an acute angle he finished yet another quality
goal. 3-2 up.
Not long to go and Thommo giving his all,
rose for a header in the box and wore an elbow
above his eye for his troubles. He was the face
of one the toughest and best victories of the
year. Coops and Vlad led the stand at the
back, making it to players and balls that
seemed out of reach. A toe here or there from
players that brought a grimace with the eort
was rewarded with.... a win!
