Sisters of Mary

Morning Star

Contemplative Charism

Our charism is to live the mystery of Christs offering to the Father, in light of the paternity
of Saint John, and we desire to live with Mary her mystery of Compassion, for the Church and
for all men.
Our Community wishes to live a contemplative life in the heart of the world in order to
respond to the call of the Holy Spirit for the New Evangelization.
Living our contemplative life in the heart of the world allows us to welcome guests and
share our life of Eucharistic Adoration, love for the Word of God, search for truth and fraternal
charity.

Formation of the heart and intelligence:

Silent Eucharistic Adoration is the heart of our life, and it calls for a formation of mind and
heart, which enriches our prayer and influences the way we live out our vows.
Our formation is faithful to the Churchs tradition, especially the documents of the Second
Vatican Council, and to the teachings of Saint Thomas Aquinas and Aristotle. This formation
allows us to read the Word of God as a living word and enter more profoundly into theology.
Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth. John 17

Balance between Solitude and Community life

A balance between solitude and community life allow us to respond to the two dimensions of
the commandment of lovelove of God and love of neighbor.
-Solitude and silence allow us to deepen our personal relationship with Christ and the Virgin
Mary.
-Through our community life and fraternal charity, we respond to Jesus command to love one
another as he has loved us. Our community life includes Eucharistic Adoration and the Liturgy
of the Hours in common, Bible studies, classes, study groups, sports and recreation.
By this they will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another . John 13

Manual Work: a poor and simple life

We incarnate our vow of poverty through our life of manual work and service. Our daily needs
are met thanks to free-will donations and the proceeds earned by the selling of our craftwork:
leathercraft, candles, woodwork, calligraphy, homemade jams, etc.

In the heart of the World

It is part of our charism to respond to invitations of the Church to offer a presence of prayer
and a witness of hope (for example, Eucharistic Adoration at youth festivals, Congresses or
other assemblies). We also regularly host Holy Hours for children in our convent or in parishes.

We wish to turn
in a special way to the one who in the night
began to shine
like a true MORNING STAR.
For just as this star,
Together with the dawn,
Precedes the rising of the sun,
So Mary from the time of her Immaculate
Conception
Preceded the coming of the Savior.
Saint John Paul II, Redemptoris Mater
