LATVIAN JANUARY

LATVIAN MEN'S NATIONAL ICE HOCKEY TEAM.


Is currently ranked 9th in the world by IIHF as of 2014. The team is
controlled by the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation. Its current head
coach is Aleksandrs Beavskis. Latvia reached quarterfinals at the
2014 Winter Olympics losing 1:2 to Team Canada.

ITALIAN FEBRUARY

CAROLINA KOSTNER (Bolzano, 8-FEB-1987). ICE SKATER


She is a figure skater who began skating in 1990. When her home
rink was destroyed in a landslide in 2001, she went to Germany to
keep on skating, about four hours away from Bolzano. She made her
senior debut in the 20022003 season, finishing fourth at the
European Championships. She won the 2014 Sochi Olympics bronze
medal.

TurkishWorld and Olympic Champion inweightlifting. Nicknamed
The Pocket Hercules, he became the strongest man ever, poundfor-pound,by lifting 3.16 times of his body weight in 1988 Summer
Olympics (190 kg in clean and jerk). He won three Olympic Games,
seven World Championships, six European titles and set 46 world
records.

ANDRS INIESTA (Fuentealbilla, 11-MAY-1984). FOOTBALL


PLAYER
Midfielder of the F.C. Barcelona with the number 8 on his back,
Andrs Iniesta was born in Fuentealbilla (Albacete) on May 11th,
1984. He joined the F.C. Barcelona in 1996, when he was 12 years
old. It was during the season 2005-2006 when he reached his top
performance as a football player in the first team. In 2010 Iniesta
scored the victory goal in the World Cup Final against Netherlands,
giving the Spanish team his first World Championship.

GYMNAST
Greek gymnast who was born on November 12th, 1976. He won gold
in the mens rings at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens with a
score of 9.862. He had also won the silver medal at the 2000
Summer Olympics in Sydney.

ERN SITKU (Nyiregyhaza, 1972). BASKETBALL PLAYER


He is a basketball player (height: 208 cm), who played in the
Hungarian national team 149 times. He started his career in Nagykll
and then he played in Nyregyhza. He was in the league for 7 years
and he got into the hall of fame. His number was 15. During his career
he scored 3059 points.

CECILIA BRKHUS (Colombia, 28-SEP-1981). BOXER


Brkhus started with kickboxing at the age of 14, becoming the
WBC World Champion in welterweight on 14 March 2009. Later, on
September 2014, she became the first woman to win four
championship belts. However, Norway is the only country in Europe
in which there is a ban on professional boxing since 1981 because
it poses significant medical risks. There are only 8 professional
boxers in Norway.

HRYSOPIYI DEVETZI (Alexandroupoli, 2-JAN-1976). ATHLETE


She is a triple jump and a long jump athlete. She won the silver
medal in 2004 Olympics and the bronze medal in 2008 Olympics,
both in the cathegory of triple jump.

SPANISH SEPTEMBER

GEMMA MENGUAL (Barcelona 12-APR-1977).


SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMER
She is currently considered the best Spanish specialist of all time
being known by the nickname "Mermaid of Barcelona. She is the
only swimmer in the world that has won four gold medals in
European Championships.

VALENTINO ROSSI (Urbino, 16-FEB-1979). MOTORCYCLIST


He is considered to be one of the best motorcycle racers of all time
having won nine Grand Prix World Championships, seven of which
are in the premier class. He soon started practicing and by the end
of 1991 he had already become an expert in minibike riding. Rossi is
first in all time 500 cc/MotoGP race wins standings, with 82
victories, and second in all time overall wins standings with 108
race wins.

ROLAND KKNY(Miskolc, 24-OCT-1975). SPRINT CANOER


He competed from the early 2000s. He started his sports career in
Nyregyhza. He won four medals at theICF Canoe Sprint World
Championships. Kkny also competed in threeSummer Olympics,
at theLondon Olympics of 2012, he won the gold medal together
withRudolf Dombifor hiscountryin the Kayak Double (K2) 1000m .
At the2004 Summer Olympicsin Athens he came sixth in theK-1
1000 mevent.

NORWEGIAN DECEMBER

THERESE JOHAUG (Dalsbygda, 25-JUN-1988). CROSSCOUNTRY SKIER


Therese has won many gold and silver medals, including World
Championship in 2011 and 2013. Therese is on the Norwegian
national ski team. She has her own clothing collection (gloves and
mittens). Outside her skiing career, she is a part time model for
Eger and her own clothing line. Therese is a big inspiration for
young athletic teenagers in Norway.
