Commented [Ml]: Consider combining these sentences to

tighten up this section. Maybe " ln this fallen world we face many
challenges that often arise not from our own mistakes but from the
mistakes of others"

Commented [M2] : Avo id passive voice. Consider ''the gospel

teaches'' or "through the gospel we learn."

Commented [M3] : I think that 1fwe say "such events are not our

In a touching story titled "The Burden Was Removed,"

[https://www .lds.org/1iahona/2014/03/the-burden-was-removed?lang=eng& media=audio] ~
anonymous author beautifully describes her testimony of the Atonement after strongly feeling
Christ's love for her one Sunday years after she was abused. She later told her story to her bishop,
and she relates how after discussing the matter with him, she felt the burden of so many years lift
off of her.I She says, " I felt the love of Heavenly Father, and I felt reassured that the abuse was ____ not my fault and that I was still pure and virtuous."
Every individual-'-5 recover~ ~ifferently from the effects of abuse is differeRt, but every
journey on the road to healing should include the Savior at our side, helping and encouraging us
along the way. HI-God' s great plan, He wants every victim of abuse to ooee-again be able to feel
"encircled about eternally in the arms of his love" (2 Nephi 1: 15).

faults" at the beginnmg ofth1s sentence, we don' t need to

reemphasize that same pomt here at the end of the sentence

Commented [M4]: It might be good to reformat this section a

hnle bit. Readers might think the author told the bishop her story of
feel mg Christ's love for her, when we're talking about how she
opened up to her bishop about bemg the victim of abuse Consider
the following: ..
author beautifully describes how her testimony
of the Atonement was strengthened even many years after she had
been the victim of abuse. The author reflects that when a teenager,
she had told her story to her bishop, and she relates. ."

G1vmg a bnef explanation of her recent experience and a brief recap

of her reflection s on her childhood expenence in the above example
could work But 1t might make more sense to choose to focus on one
aspect of her art icle (either how she felt peace years after or how she
,
~ felt Heavenly Father's love as a thirteen-year-old and realized that
\,. that expenence was not her fault).

Commented [MS] : Give up? Surrender? Relinquish?
