Handout the Image Retreat Handout and discuss it with the

students drawing back to the Image Retreat.
What were some good things? What were some things that
still are confusing?
Have students go grab textbooks and turn to page 88.
Body
Seven Tendencies of Individualism Rotations
On seven chart papers, write each of the Seven Tendencies of
Individualism and place them around the room. Separate each
chart paper in thirds labeling each Positive, Minus and
Interesting. Separate the students in 7 groups (2-3 students
per group) using the random group generator online. Divide the
groups to each of the posters based on their group number to
start (One student of the group will need to bring a textbook)
Each group will get 2 minutes at each station to read the
section relating to that tendency and then write down as many
positive/negative aspects of that tendency of individualism
then rotate around the classroom. If students get to a poster
and there is already a point they wanted to put on there, they
are to put a check mark beside that point.
After all groups have been to each station, open the class up for
a Free for all. Students will be allowed to go to any of the
posters and write any ideas that might have arisen since they
were last at that poster.

30 min.

Afterwards, discuss each poster with the students and whether

they had any issues they might have had with the tendencies.
As you go through the Tendencies, have the students write
down each of them into their notes. Try to link each tendencies
back to a point made previously in the course.

Learning Activity

What do I value?

35 min.

Have sheets in the four corners of the room that each says
Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree and Strongly Disagree.
Each sheet will have different phrases on them.
Have all the students stand and read out each of the
statements below allowing students to move themselves to the
corner that best reflects their views. One student will then add
up how many people were at their corner for that particular
question. Remind the students that these statement/answers
are all personal and that no judging should occur. Its
necessary to respect all others beliefs no matter if they
differ from ours

Lesson

Students will be asked to write a list of ten things that they like
about themselves but without their name on it. Encourage
students to focus on things that are not physically based.
Collect the sheets from the students and read one from each
sheet out loud so that the students can gain an understanding
that everyone has positive things that they like about
themselves.
Write all of these out on computer to be handed out to
everyone tomorrow.
Students are not limited to ten; they are to write as many or as
little down as they can think of.
Students can take these lists tomorrow and use them to their
Generosity Philosophy
Closure
Before everyone leaves today, you need to write one of the 7
Tendencies of Individuals on a post it note and whether or not
that specific tendency is reflected in your personal actions.
Then you can stick your post-it note on the board before
leaving.
Today we talked a lot about who we are as people and
appreciating/respecting ourselves. Tomorrow we are going to
