Properly wash hands in systematic order
Learning Objective: Tim, Susan, and Chris will demonstrate washing their hands
correctly, completing 6 out of the 7 steps in the correct order.

(b) (1) (A) identify and practice personal health habits that help individuals stay healthy
such as a proper amount of sleep and clean hands
Special Needs/Background Information: This lesson will be provided to three second
grade students with intellectual disabilities who are able to follow visual instruction, but
not yet just verbal instruction. Students have ranging fine motor skills which may make
this task easier or more challenging.
Materials and Equipment:
Soap, towel, sink, worksheet
Classroom management and environment: Students will sit and stand near the sink with
the teacher.
Engagement/Focus: Today we are going to learn how to thoroughly wash your hands.
Knowing how to do this is important so that you can prevent germs from spreading and
keep you from getting sick.

Closure: Together we have been practicing the correct way to thoroughly wash your
hands. We learned how there are 7 important steps involved in washing hands. Tomorrow

ordering worksheet over washing hands.
