ISIS has recently been establishing a very bad reputation for
Muslims and Islam beliefs and principles in general. The reason for
this is because many people have stereotyped and generalized a
very diverse religion. The reason why ISIS is so strict and radical
can be accredited to how they interpret the Quran. Members of ISIS
tend to interpret religious texts and books more literally and strictly.
It is because of their radical interpretations that they have tortured
prisoners, and performed terrorist attacks and gruesome
beheadings.

this belief in Divine Predestination

Muslims believe that God has given
human beings freewill. This means
that they can choose right or wrong

their choices, much like Catholics.

One of ISISs main objectives, besides punishing those who have disobeyed the Quran, is to
acquire a massive amount of religious followers and eventually establish a large Islamic State,
otherwise known as a caliphate. There have been many opinions on what actions can be taken against
ISIS and how it can be stopped. Some suggest we send our troops there; others think that we should
stay away from foreign relations with the middle east in its entirety. Although deciding what to do is a
very serious and important topic, no matter what the decision is, we need to make it fast.

How the World Views Islam

And Why ISIS is to Blame

Although ISIS is the root of all these problems, many people seem to blame the issues on the Islam
religion and its followers. Because ISIS is so radical, and so well-known, it greatly affects the publics
perception of Islam. In fact, many Muslims are against ISIS, and dont share the same ideals or principles. In
addition, there are many other extreme terrorist groups that have affected the image of Islam. For example,
Al-Qaeda, the terrorist group most known for its attack on the twin towers on September 11, 2001, had
marred the publics opinion of the Islamic faith. And yet, after years of building a true image of Muslims,
news of the terrorist group ISIS growing surfaces, and the publics opinion is damaged yet again. No matter
what America does to defeat ISIS, this racism and religious intolerance needs to be put down for good.
