Dance Choreographer:
Job Description
Dance Choreographers direct rehearsals to instruct dancers in how to use dance steps, and in
techniques to achieve desired effects. They design dances for individual dancers, dance
companies, musical theatre, opera, fashion shows, film, television productions and special
events, and for dancers ranging from beginners to professionals.

The average pay entry-level salaries for dance teachers are in the range of $25,000 to $35,000.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the top 10 percent of teachers earned more
than $83,000, proving that a good salary can be earned with experience. The average was
$53,230 in May 2010.
Education
Educational requirements for this position vary depending on the hiring company. For example,
to teach a dance class in high school, the dance teacher would typically need a teaching
certificate in their dancing technique, at least a bachelor's degree in dance, and prior
experience. College-level dance teachers generally need experience in addition to a master of
fine arts degree related to their preferred dancing technique. Dance teachers may work day
and/or evening hours, and they may work part time or full time depending on their employer's
needs.

Job Description
Personal trainers meet with clients before they begin working with them to gain a better
understanding of the client's goal, like losing weight or gaining muscle mass. They may also
give clients a tour of the facility and show them some of the workouts they may do. At this initial
meeting, the trainer may also go over the charges for the personal training services and discuss
payment plans. Personal trainers devise customized exercise plans for their clients based on
their goals. These plans typically include cardiovascular and weight lifting exercises. During a
training session, trainers observe their clients performing exercises to ensure they are doing the
moves correctly. Trainers may also give diet and lifestyle suggestions when they are relevant to
the fitness plan.
Working Conditions
Personal trainers work mainly indoors at fitness centres, gyms, or in clients homes. However,
depending on the clients program, they may also work outside.
Earnings
According to predictions from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), jobs for fitness trainers
and instructors should increase 13% from 2012-2022. This average level of job growth is
partially due to the growing emphasis on the importance of good health for people of all ages. In
May 2013, the BLS listed the median annual salary of fitness trainers and instructors at
$33,020.
Education
he BLS noted that fitness centers and other organizations are beginning to require candidates to
have a health or fitness-focused bachelor's degree, although a professional certification
sometimes can be substituted. Common courses in these areas include nutrition, exercise
physiology and kinesiology. Students may also complete fitness assessments and learn
rehabilitation techniques to help clients recover from injuries.
