5 Senses
We have got 5 different senses in our body:

Sight
Hearing
Touch
Smell
Taste
Sight

The organ we use to see is the eye. There are different parts in this organ. The
parts we have outside are used to protect the eye:
Eyela shes

Eyelid

Eyebrow

The parts we have inside are the ones we use to see:

It is very important to take care of our eyes, so we should protect them as much as we
can. For example, using sunglasses when it is very sunny or having enough light when we
read. We also have to be careful, we shouldn't watch TV too closely or look to the sun
directly.

Hearing
The organ we use to hear is the ear. Some of the hearing parts are inside, and some
others are outside:

The sound vibrates, goes along the ear canal and gets the ear drum. When the ear drum
vibrates, it makes the small bones move and they take these vibrations to the cochlea.
Then the cochlea sends this information to the brain. This is how we can hear different
sounds.
Touch
The organ we use to touch is the skin. Every part of our body is covered by skin, so we
can feel different things using our whole body. We feel things, but we can also feel pain or
temperature (heat or cold).
Smell
The organ we use to smell is the nose. We smell different odors when we breathe, so we
are always smelling everything. We can smell nice things like roses, or disgusting things
like poo. Animals can smell things much better than us, dogs for example, use their sense
of smell to recognize people, while we use our sight to recognize them.
Taste
The organ we use to taste is the tongue. Our tongue is full of little taste detectors called
taste buds, and they taste everything we put inside our mouth. Every part of our tongue
tastes a different flavour:
Our sense of taste can distinguish 4 different flavours:
Sweet ( sugar, bananas, ...)
Salty ( ham, popcorn, ...)
Sour ( lemon, yogurt, ...)
Bitter ( spices, unsweetened chocolate, ...)
