narrates the story , in
the first person, of a ship
wrecked sailor who struggled
hard to survive, amidst a
violent and turbulent sea after
a ship-wreck and tried his best
to save his mates but in futile
before he was rescued.

Content analysis

: The story narrates the


struggle of a shipwrecked man.
The story begins with his first
impression
after
the

unfortunate shipwreck that he


was completely alone in the
vast and fathomless ocean.
The ship was gone deep into
the unfathomable depths of
the sea and vanished. He was
totally ignorant of what was
happening in the sea. He
suddenly took hold of one of
the wooden cases that was
floating on the surface of the
sea. He then, for no reason,
began to behold and seriously
think about the condition of
the sea.

PARAPHRASING THE PORTION:


First he thought that he was
all alone in the middle of the
sea. The ship dived into a deep
hole and disappeared. He had no
idea about what was happening
around, suddenly he got hold of
a wooden case and he stupidly
tried to save the life. It was a
clear day except the waves
made by the wind. The cargo
scattered and there was no
evidence of a ship wreck.
