FEATURES
Molded in tie-down lugs.
1.9 specific gravity max. wall thickness standard.
HDLPE tanks constructed with FDA approved
materials: Max. temp. 130F; brittle at -94F.
XLPE tanks: Max temp. 140F; brittle at -180F.
Exceeds ASTM D-1998-96 design standards.
The American Society for Testing and Materials
(ASTM) formulated design standards for all vertical polyethylene storage tanks to assure consistency and safety in tank designs and manufacturing. All Snyder vertical tanks are designed
to exceed these requirements. As a result,
Snyder tank walls are thicker in the critical hoop
stress areas.
Material options for a diverse range of application requirements. We have the ability to cater
a tank's material construction to an application's specific requirements. We offer the following resin options: High-density linear
Polyethylene (HDLPE: Complies with U.S. Food
and Drug Administration Regulation 177.1520. All
materials are UV stabilized for long-term outdoor
service.) black & natural white color; Crosslinked, high-density Polyethylene (XLPE)
black & natural white color; and opaque white
"black-out" resin.
Available with seismic MIC Zone 4 and UBC
110 MPH wind resistant tie-down systems.
Most Snyder verticals incorporate molded-in tiedown lugs, which are designed to interface with
a cable tie-down system. Many tank designs
have the ability to be modified for even more
stringent specification standards when required.
Specific gravity ratings are based on the industrys most severe calculation. Snyder utilizes a
600 psi hoop stress measured from the top of
the tank's dome to calculate posted specific
gravity for every vertical tank we manufacture.
As a result, Snyder's specific gravity ratings
deliver a stronger tank with a higher safety factor. Standard specific gravity choices are 1.5
and 1.9, other ratings are available upon
request. Specific gravity reflects material
weight. For example, 1.5 S.G. = 12 lb/gallon,
and 1.9 S.G. = 15.2 lb/gallon.

1.9 specific gravity, 6,500 gallon vertical tanks are

utilized to store a variety of acids and caustic materials at a chemical distribution plant.
