Section B [30 marks]

You are advised to write between 250-350 words for this section.
You should look at the printout comprising information from two separate websites on
page 3, study the information carefully and plan your answer before beginning to
write.
As the President of your schools Student Council, you have been tasked to
recommend a half-day excursion for a class of 25 Primary Four pupils from Japan
who will be here on a one-week exchange programme in Singapore for the first time
during the upcoming September Holidays. As part of Singapores efforts to maintain
our 49th year of bilateral relations with Japan, the school hopes to extend its
hospitality to leave a good impression for our visitors. The aims of this excursion are
to allow our visitors to experience Singapore and be enriched by learning something
new.
Write a report to the Principal to recommend one place of interest to visit.
Your report should include:

How your selected place of interest and the activities conducted there will meet
the aims of the excursion

Why your chosen place of interest and the activities conducted there are better

Suggestion of one follow-up activity (not reflected in the printout) for the visitors
that you think will meet the aims of the excursion

Write your report in clear, accurate English and in a persuasive tone to convince your
Principal to adopt your recommendation.
You should use your own words as much as possible.
