For they know not the voice of strangers

Breaking Down a Stronghold

"No man is able to pluck them out of my hand"
This partial passage, taken out of context is used to uphold the false doctrine of Eternal Security.

Back in Context:
John 10:26-29
JN 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
JN 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
JN 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
JN 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

The Words of Jesus

"No man is able to pluck them out of my hand"
Is changed to mean
"No matter what you do, you cannot forfeit it"
The Passage, when placed back into context, is referring to The Sheep of Jesus not being mislead by false teachings. They know the
voice of Jesus and will not follow a stranger.
They FOLLOW JESUS (vs 27) and KNOW HIS VOICE
JN 10:29 "No man is able to pluck them out of my hand"
(Is saying no man will be able to lead them astray. ) This is easily understood by putting the verse back into context and reading verses
4, 5 12, and 13.
JN 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
JN 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
JN 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth
the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
JN 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

A STRANGER THEY WILL NOT FOLLOW BUT WILL FLEE FROM HIM FOR
THEY KNOW NOT THE VOICE OF STRANGERS
Psalm 1 teaches that the green trees will be those in Gods Word day and night, and they will not be lead astray. What
Jesus is teaching in John 10:29, is that the true sheep, will know the Word of God the voice of Jesus so well, that they
will not follow the voice of a stranger, and they will not be plucked away by false teachers. He is not teaching that it is not
possible to fall away by sin, or that you can sin and not surely die. Just that only those who know Gods voice so well,
these will not be plucked away, or seduced by a false teaching. They will know the truth very well.
A true sheep will be known by knowing Gods Word, and be in Gods Word Day and Night, so as not to be plucked away.

It is ironic that the very verses that warn the sheep not to follow seducing spirits are the very passages used by false
teachers to seduce them into believing false doctrine.
