Georgia Homeschooler
Presents
Attorneys for the Day
Wednesday, August 19th
9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. / Check in at 9:15 a.m. Grades 3-12 /
Learn how to debate using the law as your guide! Journey Through Justice is a four-hour, interactive learning experience for students to see the law come alive as experienced attorney and teacher docents challenge them with insightful, age-appropriate, GPS-correlated lessons on topics such as right to free speech. Students become "Honorary Attorneys for the Day" and then present a scripted mock trial in a fully-functioning courtroom. Our riveting day ends with a visit to the Museum of Law, where students delve into America's mesmerizing legal past. Students' grasp of the law lesson is measured by a "student bar exam." Journey Through Justice is offered at the State Bar of Georgia Headquarters in downtown Atlanta. Participants receive a certificate of completion.
Students must bring lunch with them. Beverages are provided. Younger siblings are NOT allowed to stay or participate in the program, per JTP program guidelines.
