The Latest News From Our Shul

Whats news:
Last week we celebrated the and wished a Mazal Tov to Yossi, Ruvi
and Estee Dorn on their birthday(s). and In their honor, we had a
special spicy chicken Kiddush! Also, thanks to the Friedmans for
the yummy cookies for Shabbos Mevorchim Tamzuz, may this
month be an amazing month! This Shabbos is Gimmel Tammuz and
our last Shabbos of our outside Minyan until after the Summer. We
are having a grand Shabbos Meal with the Rebbes secretary, Rabbi
Groner, who came all the way from Crown Heights to be with us on
this special day! We are looking forward to a great Sudah and
wonderful childrens farbriengin. We also want to take this
oppratunity to wish all those who are going to sleep-away camp,
much Hatzlacha in Camp. Make sure you have fun, stay safe and
show them all what the Kol Avrohom California kids are all about!
For those of you who will still be here, you are all invited to join us
at our inside table for Davening, Raffles and Kiddush as usual! Last
but not least, a big thank-you to all our counselors and staff,
thanks for your dedicated work and all your help, we could have
never done it without you!

Shabbos Message: This Shabbos, Gimmel Tammuz, is a time for
us to focus on the Rebbe and his guidance to children. One
important thing that the Rebbe started was Tzivos Hashem, The
Army of Hashem. Just like a soldier needs a uniform, we wear our
Tzitzis and Yarmulkas. A lesson we can focus on during the summer
is to always be proud of who we are, make the Rebbe proud and
be a soldier in The Army of Hashem, even if its hot or your playing
sports, dont forget your uniform its who you are! WE WANT
MOSHIACH NOW! Have a great Shabbos!

Rebbe Story Its all about the children!

Although today's generation has grown accustomed to overseas
travel, it was much less convenient and affordable during the first
years of the Rebbe's leadership. Nevertheless, one of the
shluchim from Europe arranged a trip to "770" in order to
celebrate Yud-Beis Tammuz, the anniversary of the Previous
Rebbe's release from prison, and to participate in the Rebbe's
farbrengen.
Yud-Beis Tammuz comes out during the summer camping
season. Shortly before the farbrengen, the shaliach was contacted
by the staff of the Lubavitch camp in upstate New York. "Please
spend the night of Yud-Beis Tammuz with our campers," he was
asked. "We have not been able to find anyone else who could be
as capable of sharing the inspiration of this important date with
the children."
The shaliach had always given priority to other peoples' needs, so
he spent the night of Yud-Beis Tammuz with a group of campers,
even though he had prepared to celebrate the chassidic holiday
with the Rebbe.
A few days later, the Rebbe announced an unexpected farbrengen
at "770". This was extremely uncommon in those years, and
many wondered what was behind this unanticipated event.
During the farbrengen, the Rebbe resolved their questions.
"There is a shaliach who traveled here from afar," he explained,
"and yet willingly forfeited his opportunity to spend Yud-Beis
Tammuz at "770", so that he could hold a farbrengen with a
group of campers. Now we are making it up to him."
