Morning Meeting reflection

1. How well did your advisory collaborate in creating the PowerPoint and leading
the meeting? What worked well and what did not work well?
I think that we didnt really collaborate. We all did our slides and finished them the
day before. The only time we collaborate in creating the PowerPoint is when we are
assigning task. I feel that being juniors gives us a little confidence boost when we
go to present. This time, I feel that my group was good, but the presentation was
messed up, which resulted in some peoples slides being forgotten.
I think that breaking down into small groups, to present, works out better
because its easier to communicate. I think what doesnt work well is starting the
presentation a week before and not having due dates. Most of the time, the slides
dont get done until very late, which makes it hard for people to practice.
2. How would you describe your role in the process? Leader? Contributor?
Creative designer? Main speaker? On a scale of 1 10, how meaningful were
your contributions & why?
This time I feel that I was more of a leader; I contacted some people when they
didnt finish their slide and asked if they could, I finished my slides early and
made them look appealing. On the other hand, I feel like I was still a contributor;
there is never really a leader in our advisory, people just tend to take the role for
a little bit and then someone else comes in.
This time around I feel that I was an 8.5. I researched two universities that I
really liked and told the school about them, and I presented twice.
3. What did you learn about yourself from the process of working with your
advisory to lead morning meeting?
I feel that the more time I spend with my advisory, the closer we get. There is a
weird tie we all have, were we dont socialize every day for every minute, but we
can all talk to each other and not have it be awkward. I dont know what I learned
about myself. Every morning meeting, I feel that I learn more about my advisory
than I do myself.
4. How could you, or your advisory, improve morning meeting next time?
I feel that Ive been saying this for every single morning meeting reflection Ive
done, but my advisory really needs to finish the presentation earlier so we can
practice together. It is not that we do a bad job, I am mostly worried about next year
when the teachers expect us to be role models to the incoming freshmen and
sophomores. I know that mediocre wont do next year.
5. What do you personally hope to do differently next time?

I personally hope to do the college of the week or book of the week as a challenge,
but also to really make that part of the presentation stand out, because I think they
are very important.
