WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE?

Intelligence exhibited by a non-organic being that uses
logical reasoning and previous historical events to make wellreasoned, rational decisions.

There are three types of A.I.

Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)
Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI)

WHEN ARE WE LIKELY TO SEE A.I.?

Two laws to take into consideration

Law of Accelerating Returns (LOAR)

As society and mankind progress, so does the rate at which they do

Scientists have actually been able to create AI at the level of intelligence of a worm

e.g. The rate at which society developed in Ancient Greece vs. the rate at which society
develops in the current status quo

Moores Law

States that more transistors will be found in an integrated circuit as time goes on at an
exponential rate

Implied that technology will develop at a faster rate

These two laws demonstrate the exponential growth of development that

currently occur in our society.

WHEN ARE WE LIKELY TO SEE A.I.? CONT.

ANI

We currently have ANI in our society

e.g. Siri
AGI
Given the LOAR and Moores Law, we could be very well on our way to
AGI
e.g. A robotic companion

ASI
Same as AGI, but it will take more time as it is infinitely more complex
e.g. Something comparable to an omnipotent god

RISKS REGARDING A.I.

TAPPING INTO THE UNKNOWN
We know next to nothing about AI
In the past we have tapped into things we dont really know
much about

E.g. Nuclear Power and the devastation incidents like

Chernobyl and Hiroshima

Could we possibly be repeating the same mistakes by

tapping into AI?

THE POTENTIAL OF A.I. HARMING
HUMANITY
AI is extremely powerful - it can also be implemented into
robots - potentially helpful, however

...One could use AI and implement it into robots for nefarious

purposes e.g. terrorist groups

The AI itself could develop a mindset that humans are bad

and may decide to attack us

Are the potential benefits worth the potential risks that come
with it?

THE EVENTUAL TAKEOVER OF ALL
INDUSTRIES
AI, paired with robotics easily surpasses human capabilities
If its more economical and efficient to use AI to do jobs instead of
humans, of course we will be replaced

The concept of replacement has already become evident, as well

as mechanization
e.g. Horse Analogy, Industrial Revolution

As we progress to AGI and eventual ASI, will humans be able to

compare to the genius of AI? Even white collar jobs will likely be
at risk
