and complete the following task.
You will need to show an excellent understanding of the requirements for the proposed
production and will be able to explain fully why each element is required.
You will give detailed explanations of how these requirements will be sourced and give full
consideration to codes of practice and regulatory issues.
From the table below you need to explain why each element was important to your chosen
production and detail how you would source them.

List of all items that need detailing

You can either create your own table or upload this one to Weebly and
complete. Either ay, a table like the one below needs to be used.
Finance:
Sources of
finance

Equipment
Transport
Talent
Crew
Materials
Facility hire

Importance
It is important to have finances in place before starting a
production, as all producer will need to pay for Equipment used such
as Cameras, tripods, green screen, lighting and sound. For an
Advert production for example, a producer will also need materials
such costumes, items for correct mise-en-scene and talent in order
to fulfil the effect that the producer is looking for. A crew will also be
needed such as cameraman, soundman lighting engineer
researchers editors and runners in order to produce a professional
looking advert.
Once all is complete facilities such as editing suits and
postproduction equipment will be needed and these cost a lot of

money.
Sourcing
Crew: Crew can be discovered through websites such as Creative
England which shows their talent via portfolios.

Facility: Editing suits such as Dynamic post Production

outlets or studio Props departments, this will help you find your
perfect prop list.
Transport: Transport can be sourced via Transport for London
http://www.tfl.gov.uk, National Rail http://www.nationalrail.co.uk,
hertz car hire etc..
A days travel card in London will cost the producer 12 per person.
The prices are cheaper than other transportations methods which
benefits the production.
Time:

Deadlines
Availability of equipment
Availability of personnel (size of
team; roles)

Importance
Deadlines are important as they can make or break your production,
by missing out on certain deadlines you are losing money via the
places you have booked to film on and the actors that you will be
using in your production. Missing deadlines would be putting your
production into threat as you can be over-spending on what you
need to be using and it will also mean that you will have an
unfinished production that you have spent money on which you
can't finish, unless you are willing to spend more money on getting
it completed.
Availability of equipment and personnel is very important within any
production because it can seriously set you back if you don't have
one of the two, for example if you don't have the right equipment at
the right time when filming, you will have to hire the equipment
when you are supposed to be filming which means you losing time
that you have put in to film at the location. By not having 1

personnel on scene when filming, it means that you can't film the
scenes that included that personnel which means you will have to
re-film at the location on a different day, this means that you will
have hire the location again in order to get the scenes completed.

production as you can get the full effect from using these pieces of

Original materials,

Archive and library materials

Photo-library materials
Sound library materials,
Internet
Audio
Script (upload an example)
Interviews
Costumes

Importance
The importance of original materials is that you are creating your
own one of a kind production which means you should be using your
own original material, such as your own footage, sounds, props and
costumes.
Archive and library materials are important as you can access
footage that can help you with your production, for example if you
are trying to film a part where it features you on the moon which
you physically cannot access the location, you can search through
the archive footage and find the video that will help you within your
production. With both archive and library materials, you can collect
videos that you can use in your production.
Photo library materials are another aspect that is considered to be
very important within any production, like an archive and library,
you collect the material that you will need for your production,
however instead of videos they are photos which you can use for
your production. They are important because you can use the
photos which can help make your production look more professional.
Sound library materials are important as it's the same as the two
subjects that were talked about above, just like an archive for videos
and photos, this one supplies sounds that you can use for your
production which enhances the production that helps your work look
more professional.
The internet is very important when filming your production, it can
be used to contact people quicker which helps organise the
production. You can also use the internet for researching beforehand
so you can gain more information that can benefit you when filming
and doing the pre-production.
Audio is important as you will need have an audio quality that is
good to make the film sound crisp and professional, audio
equipment is heavily suggested as it will enhance the sound and
make the work once again sound more professional. Boom mic's are
needed as you can capture the sound quality at a high level.

Scripts are one of the most important things needed for a

productions as without the script, the actors will not know what they
should be saying and doing. The script has everything that the actor
needs to know so without the script, it will not string together well.

Interviews are another important thing that you will have to look at
when making your production, interviews allow you gather
information that you will need for your pre-production as it helps
you gain an understanding on what you will need to know for your
production.
Costumes have importance for any sort of production as the outfit
can suggest what type of production it is, for example if one of the
actors was wearing a cowboy outfit, it would suggest that the genre
of the production is a western film. Overall the costumes are very
important for a movie production as it can give the movie the full
effect.

Limitations and risks:
Distance, access, cost, weather

Importance
Location recces are important when filming a production as you can
analyse the location you will be filming at. When analysing the
location you will be looking at the lighting information, sound
information, power information and hazards, each of these sections
help identify what needs to be known about the location. Overall the
location recces is a key aspect when you are in the process of
making your production.

Limitations are something that you have to be aware of as some

locations that you would want to film might be off limits to the
general public, if you know the person who owns the private land,
make sure you get in contact with him/her and try to arrange a way
that you can gain access to the land for filming purposes. Risks are
another thing that you should be aware of as some locations have
dangerous environments which you could injure yourself on or
possibly break equipment when in use, make sure that you are
aware of your surroundings when filming and make sure that you
path is clear as well. Distance of location is important so make sure
that you can access the location via car, bus, train or on foot.
Making sure that are you are filming is accessible as well so you
dont turn up on the day of filming and not being able to get in. Cost
of the location should not much of a worry but if you are hiring a
location to film at, make sure that have arranged payment for
filming if you have to. Finally making sure you have the correct
weather for filming is key, when filming a romantic scene on a
sunny day, make sure you are not filming the scene in the rain as it
ruins the atmosphere of the movie and also forces you to re-film
another day, checking the weather forecasts always helps you plan
ahead.

Codes of

regulation:

Importance
Location permissions are important to have as you can be
trespassing on private property when filming at a location, make
sure that you check in advance to see if the location is private or
public so you can make sure that you are breaking any laws. If the
location Is private, consult the owner of the property and try to
arrange permission to film on the property.
Clearances are important as you must have written permission to
use everything and everyone in your production, if you don't have
permission for what's in your film then you could be told to re-film
with different people, props and costumes which could change the
aspect of the production.
Copyright is very important as you must make sure that you are not
copying original ideas and distributing them, make sure that all the
ideas that were used in your production are all original, this means
that you will not be breaking any laws to do with copyright and you
will be producing your own unique work.
Health and safety needs to be look at properly as its a very
important subject within the cast and crew. Making sure that all the
camera/sound equipment is safe to use and that the location is safe
for the cast and crew to work on is key as they could be injured if
the location and equipment is not safe.
Insurance is important to look at when filming a production because
if somebody does get injured throughout the production, they will be
insured via the insurance company which helps lower any other
costs within the production, the same applies to the equipment as if
it breaks then the insurance can help by covering the damage or
replacing the broken equipment.

the problems with it, this isn't considered to be good as you will be
re-filming parts that will be costing you more money than you

Trade unions:

before broadcasting. They have membership fees at the union so
becoming a member can help you in the future with other projects
