Procedures:
1. Lesson Introduction / Anticipatory Set:
The instructor will ensure that every student has reviewed their Naviance personality
types, learning styles, and the career and college choices that align with each individual
student. If students have any questions about their personality types or learning styles
(they should already have covered this information previously) then the instructor will
clarify.
2. Direct Instruction:
The instructor will explain that students are to conduct research on their choices and
answer the necessary questions in order to compile a comprehensive explanation. The
majority of this lesson will be unguided, independent work. The instructor will monitor
student progress by roaming and answering any questions that arise. Students should
spend the majority of the classroom time researching and entering information into the
Notability application or Google Docs. If students have compiled all of the information
then students may begin to upload information to the notes portion of their website.
(Note: instructor should give ample time for research and this may not be completed in
one class period).
3. Student Interaction with lesson content / Guided Practice:
Students will all be issued the necessary technology in order to compile all of their
information, either IPad or laptop. Instructor should guide students through their

3
research. Students should understand the importance of using trustworthy and
acceptable sources.
4. Independent Practice:
Students should work independently for this lesson. Students who have the same
career or college aspirations may be paired together at the discretion of the instructor.
5. Review / Closure:
Instructor needs to be fully aware of the progress each of the students are making
because this project is on a timeline. Any students who have not completed enough
research will be required to complete the remainder of their information gathering as
homework. Students will also be required to find an individual who is in the field of
which they would like to pursue and set up an interview with this person as homework.
6. Presentations:
Students should present their note taking/information gathering to the instructor prior
to being dismissed.
