Identifying the problem.

Working from home has started to become into a trend. Usually, stard-ups,
entrepreneurs or people who have their own company work from the commodity of
their homes. According to the government data the percentage of people who are
working exclusively form their houses in 2010 was of 6.6 percent in comparison to
the 4.4 percent of 1997. Similarly, the trend it can also be seen in Europe in
countries like England where the people working mainly from home increased from
9.2% in 2001 to 10.7% in 2011 (eurograduate)
Moreover, according to CNN working from home has possitive results, for
instaces there will be no more communiting, meaning this less polution for the
environment. There will be a better atmosphere, the chances of getting annoyed by
office staff goes to zero Any pent up resentment against other employees annoying

working habits would no longer be an issue summarizing this to a decrease in term of

ethical lapses. More productivity, with a decrease in all the previously mentioned variables,
employees can be in a better mental and physical state, which permits them to have a better
performance. Yet, working from home brings negative complications, examples of these can
be distractions, the ablity to watch Youtube videos, get something to each, or even check
the newsfeed from your facebook account might become into major problems. Another
problem that can be mention is the neccesity for boundaries, when someone works from
home friends and family might feel the liberty or the right to interrupt
However, working from home brings ethical complications to the employees. By
working from home measuring ones development in terms of works becomes more
complicated. Also a rupture in communication with the coworkers might take place.
The main question that companies might ask themselves in terms of their employees
who work from home are, how do we manage to know that people are working? How can
their work be managed? Are they staying in touch with their coworkers? Do they share the
same ethical code that our company has? How can we quantify our employees word and
development? These problems can be seen mainly as the main complications relating their
employees that are working from home.
Nowadays, we see that technology is present in all our surroundings, in the
form of portable computers, cell phones, wireless networks and so on. All of them
are useful for different jobs.
Sherry Turkle, in her work Tethering begins with a scene in which
researchers from MIT became so attached to technology that they started calling

themselves cyborgs. They would always carry their wireless apparatuses such as
their computers and radio transmitters in their backpacks, keyboard in their
pockets, and wore digital displays (Turkle 235). It can be seen that technology is
such an important part of their lives that they take their technological devices
everywhere. The researchers will occasionally get to the point at which technology
will cause them physical damage. Turkle imagines that they might even merge with
their devices, Their burdensome technology cut into their skin, causing lesions and
then scar tissue, they were indifferent (Turkle 235).

That is why it is critical that we are all present in our offices."

"To become the absolute best place to work, communication and collaboration will be important,
so we need to be working side-by-side,"

Last year Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer banned her 12,000 employees from working from
home in February (fastcoexist.com) this was a very controversial problematic
regarding to the fact that telecomunications make communication and work apt to
be done anywhere.
"people are more productive when they're alone,"
but they're more collaborative and innovative when they're together."
