Part 1: Assessment Technology (150-250 words).

I used the website edmodo to quiz my classroom . I choose to quiz them on online safety and the use of
software https://www.edmodo.com/post/399250989.I intended this assignment to be summative .I
choose summative because this quiz will be given after the rules are taught to the students . The quiz
will be used to make sure that students are paying attention to lesson. I will use this data , to make sure
that my students are practicing safe online habits . The students that don't do very well on the quiz I
will work with them individually until they understand the proper use of technology .Facebook is an

Introduction (4-6 Sentences):
Teachers have many different sources they can use to test the knowledge of their students .Many of
these resources can be used to evaluate how well a student absorbed the lesson during class . Its
important to evaluate a child's comprehension to make sure they're ready to move on to next chapter ,
and even more important to the next grade level . Teachers should use websites like , survey monkey ,
blackboard and jumprope to quiz their students .

Technology to Facilitate Ongoing Efforts to Assess Student Learning (150-200 words)

Teachers can use technology to facilitate the efforts to test student learning by taking different websites
and creating quiz's and polls on the information they have taught . If a teacher takes a poll or a survey
after a lesson he or she will get and understanding of how each student learns .Its imperative that
teachers teach their students to use software. Software is a major part of corporate America . Teachers
can use technology to help provide students with a better education . Teachers can use websites like
survey monkey, blackboard and jumprope to asses their students .
Survey Monkey (100 words)
Survey monkey is a website that allows you to survey the students or the parents . Survey monkey has
been used to take survey's of the a students knowledge . Teachers can utilize this website to find out if
the student is comfortable with the style of teaching that is being used .Teachers can also utilize this

website to asses if a student is learning properly by inputting the data from quizzes to see what
questions where frequently missed . Teachers could also survey their parents and see if they are happy
with the knowledge their students are gaining .
(Blackboard) Blackboard can be used to test a student . Students that don't test well can use a site like
black board and not feel as much pressure . Teachers can also use blackboard to survey the students .
Blackboard has many different applications for a teacher to use , they can post the entire class on
blackboard and use this website to facilitate their lessons . Teachers could also use blackboard for make
up quizzes when a student has many multiple days they could use blackboard to access any work they
may need to makeup .(Blackboard,2015)
(Jump Rope ) The Jumprope software can be used to do many things in the classroom , its very
resourceful for the teacher . Jumprope software can take attendance electronically . When a teacher is
able to submit attendance electronically . Jumprope will also keep track of the child's behavior making
it easy for a teacher to report home. Jumprope also tracks the students grades . Jumprope keeps up with
their attendance and their performance in the classroom it is useful for both the student and the teachers

(Formative and Summative Assessments) (100-150 words)

Survey monkey , blackboard and jumperope can be utilize for summative assessment because each
website allows you to survey the students after a lesson has been taught . Summative assessment is
usually used after a teacher has taught the lesson and wants to find out what his or her students have
learned .Teachers could take either one of these websites and create a quiz to survey how much the
students learned from the lesson . This software can also be used in formative assessment teachers
could provide the students with a survey and adjust their teaching habits based on the survey's .

(Pros and Cons of using Technology to Facilitate Assessment) (200 words)

Technology is a fast way to analyze your classroom . Technology helps a teacher clarify what needs to
be taught and what has been learned .Technology provides a teacher with and electronic copy of
students growth .Technology provides a student with a way to independently learn . Technology can
also , improve the engagement in the classroom .When technology is used to much it can make a child
anti social, students need social interaction to prepare them for real world situations . Technology can
be inaccurate if the site is not a reliable resource (Technology and Student ,2015).
(Should a teacher only use technology to assess student learning? Why or why not?)
Teachers should make sure to use many different outlets to asses students . Students learn differently
and also test differently . Student may have test anxiety, if the student is verbally quizzed they may be
lest likely to be come anxious before a quiz . Teachers have to be flexible to a students need , so having
multiple testing aids will help a students feel more comfortable in that particular class.
What is the importance of assessment technology in connection with the ISTE standards?
The importance of assessment technology in connection with the ISTE standards because technology is
increasing in the classrooms and technology has become a required standard. The ISTE connects
teachers with digital age teaching and provides the students with digital learning . The ISTE teacher
and students standards are all based on the use of technology in the class and having knowledge of it
(ISTE,2015).
Concluding Paragraph for Software to Support Assessment
Teachers must be able to teach their students how to use software . Software is a major part of
the corporate world . Software provides students and teachers with a clear assessment of how they are
preforming in class .Teachers can use the software to test their students knowledge and keep them
updated when they have became ill and have missed class . Teachers don't need to complete replace the
basics with technology , the introduction of technology is very important .
