How Humans Cause Global warming

The earths climate has been becoming hotter and hotter over the years with humans
burning more and more coal and creating extra heat that in not healths for the earths atmosphere.
The humans responsibility for climate change focuses most on global warming because humans
are the reason for global warming. Humans are responsible for global warming because of coalburning plants that release CO2 into the atmosphere which creates a stronger atmosphere that
traps more heat than it use to in previous centuries. However this can be fixed, humans have the
resources to create healthy and eco-friendly ways to make and store energy. Global warming is
caused by humans because of the unhealthy ways they make energy for themselves, this is
making the earth warmer and is making natural disasters more
destructive, these can all be solved if humans buy into the idea of healthier and safer energy.
Think of yourself as the earth and a blanket the atmosphere, when you are cold you can
depend on the blanket warming you up just like how the atmosphere warms up the earth, also
the thicker the blanket the warmer you become correct? Well the thicker the atmosphere gets the
warmer the earth becomes. Coal-burning plants have created more than 2.5 billions tons of CO2
in the U.S. alone, (edf.org). According to www.nwf.org when CO2 is released into the air it
soars to the atmosphere and thickens the atmosphere and more heat is held in. This problem
could have been solved in the past by the plants because they absorb the CO2 for their health
however with the increase of humans cutting down forests the less of the CO2 gets absorbed
leading to a stronger atmosphere. With a stronger atmosphere comes stronger weather and
stronger natural disasters that count for over 258 million people(www.disaster-survivalresources.com/) affect in the last decade and that toll can only increase.
Weather has been affected by this phenomenon in several ways from very minor weather
situations like snowfall to large situations such as hurricanes. Snowfall accumulation has gone

down by 60% since 1950, (www.nrdc.org). With the snow accumulation declining so is the
actual season of winter, winter has become shorter in some areas in the U.S because of the
warming temperatures from the CO2 production. On ndrc.com in thier article Global Warming
Basics there is a portion that talks about hurricanes and it says Global warming doesn't create
hurricanes, but it does make them stronger and more dangerous. Because the ocean is getting
warmer, tropical storms can pick up more energy and become more powerful (www.nrdc.com).
This should be a concern for humans because is the CO2 levels continue to rise the more damage
will occur. Eventually the levels of CO2 production will become to high for the earth to handle
and the storms will become worse for humans to handle. Also, with more heat comes more
droughts due to the evaporation process occurring too quickly. Scientists project global
warming will bring more uncertainty, potentially causing both more extremely dry periods
(nwf.com). This can all be solved if humans find resources that produces little to no CO2 but
still creates the same amount of energy.
Not all hope is lost, humans can still affect the climate positively by using different ways
to create and produce energy. Ways that are already invented but not allowed to be used
commercially. Right away, we should put existing technologies for building cleaner cars and
more modern electricity generators into widespread use. We can increase our reliance on
renewable energy sources such as wind, sun and geothermal. And we can manufacture more
efficient appliances and conserve energy ... while the technologies exist, the corporate and
political will to put them into widespread use does not, (ww ndrc.com). Humans need to realize
that the solution of global warming is having cleaner sources of energy 100% of the time not
50% healthy and 50% earth harming energy. Humans need to realize that the harm that they are
causing now will eventually harm the whole human race slowly but effectively. Wind and solar

energy are two very real and simple ways that will help the earth and still produce the same
amount of energy as coal burning creates.
Humans are responsible for the global warming aspect of climate change. Up to this
point humans have not affected the climate positively for the most part. However with some
changes the future can be changed. If humans want to have their race advance and survive then
they need to take into consideration that for their races survival they need to keep good care of
the earth and its atmosphere.
