WTE 9
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) is offering a job
position for students who wish to build up their resume and learn valuable
skills while working in the Student Organizations Resource Center (SORC) on
campus. UNCC is well established research-based University within the UNC
system and currently there are roughly 27,000 student enrolled. The
University is looked upon highly by the general public due to its quality of
education, beautiful campus, and great teachers, among other things. Many
employees who work at UNCC often are students or have gone to Charlotte
previously, and this reflects in their choice to continue to work or get
involved in the University. Just by visiting the school or even checking out its
website online, you get a feel for how professional and positive the
environment is around campus.
Most of the job postings by this employer are fairly similar in
formatting, but the jobs themselves vary significantly. They are all posted on
an employment board site hosted by the University which allows users to
easily search between different job postings.
The SORC is looking for an assistant to work in the resource center
doing task such as general upkeep of the area, assisting students and
organizations with any help they may need, sort emails, and to support and
maintain the Student Organizations social media pages. The ideal candidate
for this position is someone who enjoys helping others, is an organized

person, and can work well with software such as Office programs, Outlook,
and Photoshop. The ability to upkeep and be familiar with social media is
also a plus, along with overall good communication skills. Education wise,
the applicant must be in good standing, and the job is only available to
students.
I believe I fit most, if not all of the desired traits of the desired
applicant for this job. I know my way around Office programs, Photoshop,
and other applications quite well. I grew up around social media, so that is
also no mystery to me and Im an organized and very clean person who loves
to help out others. While I dont have an extensive amount of customer
service experience, I do have some from working at the Airport a few
summers ago helping people who needed a wheelchair to get around. All in
all, I would greatly appreciate the chance to work in the Student
Organizations Resource Center and UNCC provides an excellent working
environment for me to get involved in.
