My last project was

revising the faculty
handbook. The
original faculty
handbook was
generated with several
issues. The mascot
was erroneously
notated, old calendar
dates, and contact
information was not
updated. Many
teachers found several
other issues which I
had to revise. Each
grade level was given
the skeleton
gradebook and had to
write down all
corrections. I had to
review and discuss
with my principal and

My last position was

to revise the faculty
handbook. My
principal chose this
role due to the issues
in the faculty
handbook and the
complaints from the
staff. Many teachers
felt the expectations
were misleading
because there were so
many errors in the
handbook. Teacher
felt they were being
held accountable for
items listed

handbook and wanted

My last project was

revising the faculty

principal assigned this
project to me due to
all the inaccuracies in
our previous
handbook. Our new
principal copied some
information from her
previous schools
handbook which
caused errors for our
handbook. For
instance, she had an

1. This project provided

me with the
opportunity to learn
about the importance
of verifying and
editing resources
appropriately.
Incorrect information
can cause confusion
and frustration, as well
as, expose
inaccuracies which
could prove to be

possible. Therefore,
my principal placed
me in charge of
obtaining all the
revisions from each
grade level and
department. The
various team leaders
provided the
revisions, and I had to
discuss with my
principal to receive
the necessary
approval to make the
corrections. The

handbook provided
pertinent information
for teachers, and
many teachers were
appreciative of the

And, the timelines
were outdated and
schedules were not
conducive to our
community and
campus. Many
teachers brought these
action items to her
attention, but she
chose to wait to
revise. Then after
meeting with each
grade levels team
leader, she determined
it was time to revise
the handbook.
Consequently, she
assigned the task to
me. I worked closely
with the team leaders
to get all their
revisions. They
would place the

mentioned earlier, my
principals previous
schools mascot was
listed several times in
our campus handbook
and many teachers
would joke about the
mascot being listed in
our handbook.
2. The students benefited
by this project by
having teachers wellinformed of the
campus expectations
and appropriate
schedules and
timelines which
correlate with district
standards.

from this project by
receiving accurate
information and not

information which was
included in the first
transmission of the

upon all the
corrections I would
estimate there were
over 25% errors
within the handbook.
I spent my time
revising each point
and discussing the
corrections with my
principal. The
completed and
corrected handbook
has met approval for
all concerned parties.
