1. Introduction:Thislessonwillhelpstudentsexplorehumanpopulationsand
explainwhypeoplelivenearcoastlines,explainthenegativeeffectssealevel
risewillhaveontheworldscoastalpopulations,andevaluatetheprosandcons
ofcoastalliving.Throughtheirexplorations,studentswillinterpretscientificand
geographicdata.Itisimportantforstudentstounderstandtheconsequencesof
changingsealevelsandhowitaffectsmillionsofpeople.Studentswillobtain
datathroughtheuseofinteractivemaps,studyingsealeveltends,andwatching
adocumentaryfromNationalGeographic.

a. Cognitive:Thestudentswillbeusingtheinteractivemaps,andthe
documentarytogainknowledgeonsealevelchange,includingtherising
andfallingoftheoceanandsealevelsallaroundtheworld.Theywilluse
criticalthinkingskills,Evaluating,andunderstandingtointerpretthedata
andinformationtheywillbecollecting.
b. Psychomotor:Throughthiswholelesson,thestudentswillbelookingat
theeffectsonsealevelchangesacrosstheglobeincludingplacesthatare
closetohome,andthiswillallowthemtoseethevastamountofpeople
thatitwillbeaffecting.
c. AffectiveDomains:Thestudentsthemselveswillbepullingdatafrom
interactivewebsites,andcreatinggraphsandmodelsthatwillshowthe
impactsofsealevelchange.
5. Diversity:Inthislessontherearemanyareasthattheteacherandthestudents
willtouchonthatwillincludeaculturaldiversity.Thestudentswillhavemultiple
chancestoresearchandobserveglobaldatafromcities.Theywillhavethe
chancetoanalyzeandformconclusionsoftheproblemsandsolutionsofthese
differentcommunitiesaroundtheworld.Thestudentswillhavethechanceto
discusshowsealevelchangesareaffectingpopulationsallaroundtheworld.
