A framework for peace between Israel and Palestine
draft peace treaty presented by Benjamin Poole to West and East Jerusalem (Charlotte, NC, March 28, 2015) The Government of the State of Israel and the Government of the State of Palestine: Goals of achieve lasting peace between these two nations, if not, the Middle East. Recognize the right to live in peace with each other and other bordering nations. Establish on going mutual respect between the two nations and other neighboring nations. Resolved to establish permanent peace between them in accordance with this Treaty. Have agreed as follows:
Article I Establish peace and recognize boundaries.
1. The war between Israel and Palestine is from here on terminated and peace is enacted. Any allies of either side must stop all violent action and provision of weapons/military arms. 2. The West Bank and Gaza Strip are here by Palestinian land while Israel maintains its current borders. 3. Any Israel military or forces must be evicted from Palestinian land with the exception of Jewish settlements currently set up in Palestine. 4. Any walls, fences or obstructions separating or presenting travel must have entry points every 5 miles. Entry points must be maintained by Israeli and Palestinian forces 5. Borders are allowed to be secured by both sides but a demilitarized zone must be implemented on the borders being at least 1 mile wide.
Article II Internal boundaries
1. Jewish settlements in Palestine are here by restricted and any settlements restricting Palestinian growth will be removed. 2. Any reaming Jewish settlements must follow Palestinian laws but are under the protection of Israel and can participate in all Israeli relations. 3. Any Palestinian removed or forced off land in Israel or in Palestine must be allowed to return or compensated by the displacers country. Article III Jerusalem 1. Jerusalem will become a shared capital for both States. Both States are allowed to have unarmed forces in the city and both states can move freely between the East and West side. 2. All weapons and military force outside the UN are restricted. Peace in the city will be regulated by UN forces made up of Israeli and Palestine participants. 3. East Jerusalem will be under Palestine law while West Jerusalem will be under Israeli law. As time continues and tensions ease Jerusalem will be under neither sides rule. Article IV Security and demilitarization 1. Both nations must slowly start to reduce their military and weapons to prevent further conflict. 2. The size of each military will be limited to 10,000 active troops. 3. Any attempts to grow or create a large army will break this treaty and be considered a treat. Article V Terrorism 1. All terrorist organizations on each side must be denounced by their own nation. 2. Any terrorist attacks from either side will not be contributed to the other nation and seen as a separate group that both nations must pursue to stop.
Article VI Open Trade
1. Trade between the two nations must become and remain open. Any current trade restrictions between the Israel-Palestine and neighboring nations will be demolished. Article VII Legislation 1. Both nations must enact legislation to fulfil this treatys requirements. Article VIII Disputes 1. Disputes between the two nations will be resolved over negotiations in Jerusalem with outside parties to observe and keep peace intentions.
