Subject: Letter of Recommendation for Denisa Llangos
Dear MSW Admissions Committee:
I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Ms. Denisa Llangos, a BSW student in
the School of Social Work at Wayne State University. Denisa is in the process of applying for MSW
program and asked me to write a letter of recommendation to accompany her application. I am an
Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Wayne State. I was also Pamelas instructor for the
Social Work 3510 (Human Behavior in the Social Environment) and Social Work 3020 (Practice Methods
II) class. I have known Denisa since August of 2013. As her former instructor in the BSW program, I can
evaluate her capability for the MSW program at Wayne State University
Denisa was enrolled in my classes, which were taken during fall semester of 2013 and winter semester of
2014. I found her to be a very hard working student who, despite language barriers, made all efforts to
complete her assignments. Her grade was in the B range mainly because of language barriers. However,
I was very appreciative of all the effort she made in my classes. She worked well individually as well as
in a group. Given her bilingual and bi-cultural identity, I strongly believe she will be a major asset to the
MSW program at Wayne State University and the social work profession. Thus, I urge you to accept
Denisa Llangos for the MSW program in the School of Social Work at Wayne State University.
If you have any questions about Denisas application or my letter of recommendation, please feel free to
contact me. I can be reached at 310-990-4658 (cell phone) or by e-mail at fl4684@wayne.edu. Thank you
very much for your consideration.
Sincerely,

Jun Sung Hong, PhD, MSW, MA
