Re: Abigail Constants Letter of Recommendation for the MSW Program
Dear MSW Admissions Committee,
It is with great pleasure to submit a letter of recommendation on behalf of Ms. Abigail Constant,
a BSW student in the School of Social Work at Wayne State University. Ms. Constant is
applying for the MSW program in the School of Social Work at Wayne State University and had
requested a letter of reference from me to accompany her application. I was happy to do so and
agreed to write one without any reservations.
I am currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Wayne State University
where Ms. Constant is a BSW student. I have known her since August of 2013 and she was
enrolled in my SW 3510 Human Behavior in the Social Environment class during fall semester
of 2013. She later enrolled in my SW 3020 Social Work Practice Methods II class during winter
semester of 2014. I have had numerous opportunities to observe and evaluate her academic
performance and potential for success in social work profession. Ms. Constant is a truly
exceptional student who always strive for excellence, as evidenced by her performances in my
classes. She completed all of her given assignments and tasks promptly, diligently, and
thoroughly, well beyond my expectations with highly impressive results. Her writing skills in
particular were truly exceptional, and she had always brought new perspectives and insights to
class discussions and activities for both of my classes. She received a final grade of A+ for
both of my classes. I would rate her oral and written skills as impressive.
Ms. Constants academic and career goals are well-aligned with the values and goals of the
social work profession and the School of Social Work at Wayne State University. There is
absolutely no doubt in my mind that she will continue to excel in the MSW program and beyond.
I am also highly confident her contribution to the social work professional community will be
significant, and the MSW program at Wayne State University is a critical first step towards
realizing her academic and career goals.

I realize that Wayne State University maintains highest standard in screening and admitting
MSW students. Ms. Constant was an asset to my classes, and I strongly believe that she will be
an asset to the School of Social Work. Thus, I strongly recommend that you accept her
application for the MSW program.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns about Ms. Constant. I
can be reached by email at fl4684@wayne.edu or by phone at 310-990-4658. Thank you very
much for your consideration.
Sincerely,

Jun Sung Hong, PhD
