The Merchandising Tasks

IF you need to restock
or cut in an item, you
will usually find it in the
overhead above the
home. The boxes look
like the ones at right.
BE CAREFUL taking
them down with the
ladderthey are
heavy and
cumbersome.

The Merchandising Tasks

You will also need to
restock the boxes on a
stick with the
appropriate spikes.
Although the POG may
call for up to 10 BOSs,
the reality at the store
may not allow for that as
many stores have lost
many of their fixtures.
Make sure they are full,
faced, and priced.

The Merchandising Tasks

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Be sure that you put the
spikes on the boxes that
make sense. The picture at
right does not, as the fruit
spikes are merchandised
with flowering trees. Put
fruit with fruit, trees with
trees, palms with palms and
evergreen with evergreen.
Every store should have at
least as many BOSs of
Jobes spikes as there are
types of spikes in the
store.

The Merchandising Tasks

About 80% of the stores
we serve will have up
to 7 2 X 2 stackouts like
the one pictured at left.
Restock them if there is
product available in the
overhead or home, and
then condense them as
product runs out.
Be sure they are priced.

The Merchandising Tasks

About 58% of the stores we serve
will have bone meal stackouts like
the ones at right in the bulb section
near the houseplants in the alfresco
set.
Restock them if there is product
available in the overhead or the
home location, and then condense
them as product runs out.
If you have to empty one or two of
the boxes in the stack, open it from
the bottom and then put the empty
box back on the stack to keep it tall.
Be sure they are priced.

The Merchandising Tasks

About 31% of the stores
we serve will be part of
the pallet bridge
program. These will
require special attention
on every visit because
competitors will feel
entitled to that space.
Lowes has put Jobes
spikes on the POG for
pallet bridge 4, so be
sure to keep it full and
priced.

Making Signs
One of the most critical things we do as
Merchandisers is to be sure that the
customers know the price.
Lowes has a computer based system for
doing so. You must make signs via
computerthey cannot be hand written.
Follow this link to learn more about how
to do it. The password is blossoming
