Combating ISIS and prevent its spread throughout the Asia

Name of Delegate: Nam Nam Vanichchai
Issue: What can we do (as a united faction) to combat ISIS and
prevent its spread throughout the Asia?
Country Assigned: Pakistan
Question 1: What is the current status of the issue in your country?
Throughout the past few years, security of several states has
been trembled by an amazingly large growth of the wealthiest and
most well trained terrorist group in the world called ISIS. The
distribution of this Islamic extremist group has overwhelmed the
world and their brutal reputation has impacted the security of many
countries. They created a strong foothold in Iraq and Syria with the
purpose to establish a new Islamic caliphate across the Middle East
and beyond. Its threat, however, further shivered many powerful
nations such as the US who is investigated to be especially involved
with this terrorist organization. ISIS, besides the most brutal and
well-trained terrorists, is also considered the best-funded terrorist
group in the world. They are capable to gain capital by trading
though oil with Saudi Arabia who is also selling oil to the largest
economic power in the world, the US. In addition to this, the US has
been investigated to have an indirect involvement with ISIS starting
from the attack in Iraq back in 2006 when they attempted to invade
Iraq for oil resources, additionally; they were in the desire of
controlling oil resources in Middle East. After the attack, the US left
the power vacuum in Iraq and did not realize its subsequences. AlQaeda, who later transferred to be ISIS, who had least amount
capital and militant weapons that affected its inability to recruit
power, now had tons of military weapons. In light of the fact that
Syria was confronting with the failure of government as Iraq, ISIS
then expanded its influence in Syria in order to recruit authority in
another Islamic state. After they successfully controlled these two
oil-rich countries, they have become a sustainably grown terrorist
group who savagely spreads power throughout the nearby nations
and at global level.
Pakistan is one of the Islamic countries impacted by the
influence of ISIS. Although they refused the existence of ISIS in the
country, it cannot be denied that a lot of Muslims living in Pakistan
believe the idea of creating a new ideal Islamic state. To illustrate,
Pakistan represents large sections of population living in poverty
and survive through agriculture because the inefficiency of the
government. Corruption, lack of accountability, and lack of
transparency penetrate at all levels of government, politics, and
military. These issues entirely affect the countrys development, and

weaken the countrys economy the factor influencing people to

join ISIS the most.
Since the majority of citizens in Pakistan are Muslims, this
country is an ideal spot to create a strong base for ISIS. Although
Indian Army has helped prevent the terrorist spread, there was a
militant group crossing the border from Afghanistan to Pakistan with
pamphlets and flags, enthusing locals to join ISIS. They use the
strategy as same as Nazi to get people under the influence by
propaganda all the pamphlets were titled Fateh or victory. In
order to gain a stronger belief in them, they mentioned that the
revival of Islam is only possible through Jihad, and the final crusade
between Muslims and infidels is imminent. Moreover, Pakistan has
been a central ground for terrorism and militancy in which more
than 48 jihadist groups have settled down their homes in Pakistan.
Over years, more than 200 of them left the country to join ISIS
because they were impressed by its military successes in Syria and
Iraq.
