Questions and answers should be rephrased.

Items should be consistently spread all through the text.

Keep true/false sentences, multiple-choice options brief

and unambiguous .

Items should appear in the same order as the information

in the text.

When writing true/false sentences, or multiple-choice

questions, the false sentences and the distractors should
be as credible as possible.

When students are required to fill in gaps in sentences,

they should supply enough context to know what to look
for.
