Learners
All 12 Players on the Roster

Goals
1. Become Great Ball Handlers
.Work on not turning the ball over in the games.

Get the offense into its sets and become efficient

with the dribble, have your eyes down the floor,
and create plays for others.
2. Become a Great Shooter
.Shoot it well from the outside and beat teams with

the teams shooting ability. Make them guard you

from everywhere on the floor because of how good
of shooters the players will become.

Objectives to Achieve
Ball Handling Skills
One hand ball skills (Cross Over, Through the Legs,
Spin, Behind the Back, In and Out)
II. Two handed ball skill. Using two balls that the same
time to practice the same moves demonstrated in
the one-hand ball skills.
III. Works on all those moves with a change of pace so
you can get a good feel for having the basketball in
your hands.
IV. Add defense to the drills and work on counter
moves. The defense is unpredictable in the games
so create a game like scenario where players are
dribbling against live competition.

First step here is breaking down each players shot and get them back
to having good form. (Eyes on Target, Stance and Balance, Shot
Pocket, Grip, Balance Hand, Delivery, Up force and Landing, Follow
Through, Choosing the Correct Shot)
Work of catch and shoot mid-range shots with all of the fundamentals
still in place. Then Work on catch and shoot 3pt shots with all of the
fundamentals still in place.
After these, incorporate the dribble pull up game with all of the
fundamentals still in place for both mid-range and 3pt shot attempts.
After these, incorporate the dribble pull up game with all of the
fundamentals still in place for both mid-range and 3pt shot attempts.
Lastly, scrimmage and see how the players fair with the new
techniques they learned. Repeat steps many of times to tighten each
players shot up.

Instructional
Technologies
For basketball, a really nice technology that

could be used in the gym is a device called

the gun. http://www.shootaway.com/ this
device enable players to shoot on their own
and help record how many shots they make,
miss, and take.
Another type of instructional technology that
could be useful to achieve the goals is to
show the players video on a projector of
other players who dribble and shoot with the
correct technique.

Learning Styles
The two types of learning styles that have been
common in the past for instructional designs
similar to the Saint Martins Basketball Training
Course are
1) Collaborative Learning
) These learners will be learning in groups and
trying to accomplish a common goal.
2) Project-Based Learning
) Hopefully this training course encourages the
learning to keep improving on the skills they
learned in this course.

Evaluation Process
Formative Assessment and Feedback
On going evaluation and altering of course
material depending on the development of
the learner is going to crucial in order to
achieve the goals.
Identifying strengths and weakness for each
learner will help direct the feedback and
further assessment of the course.

Evaluation Process
Summative Feedback and Assessment
At the end of the process the skills each
learners have will be identified and feedback
will be given to each individual on where they
stand on the team.
Also, we will structure a new design program
for the following year based on the
improvements discovered.
The real feedback comes when the season
ends in the spring and we find out if it was a
success or not.

Evaluate
1. Formative
. It is a process. As instructors, constant evaluation and

feedback is crucial through the week and throughout the

month.
2. Summative
. At the end of each week the learners will be evaluated. It is
important that they do not take 2 steps forward and 1 step
back at the start of each week.
. The development needs to continue to grow and
improvements need to be shown.
. Feedback at the end of each week and the process will be
important for the learners to know where they stand.
