Used a book about a snowman & snowman picture to discuss concepts. Demonstrated how to tear paper to complete snowman project.
Asked students questions. Consider having students to complete each step at the same time & within a set time period. Also, include
more content vocabulary (I.e., primary color, cool color, straight line).

Taught lesson in smaller steps. Students listened to fog horn sound & were asked to draw their own visual interpretation of the sound.
Asked students to determine where the sound in Dove's painting started & discussed how the paint faded from middle outward,
introducing new content vocabulary: tint & concentric circles.

Greeted students in hall, informed them a guest is present, reminded them of expectations, & explained why university supervisor was
present. Complimented students. Conferenced with 4 students before dismissing them to their table. Consistently addressed student
behavior. Enhance classroom management by incorporating non-verbal signals & Implementing consequences to help reinforce
community in the classroom; consistently use "Mona-Lisa", "A-R-T", or other methods. Consider tearing paper in advance & using glue
stick (Or other glue solution) for 1st grade students. Use last few minutes of class to review previous &/or upcoming lesson concepts by
asking students questions as they line up.
Second Observation Comments Standard 5 - 6:

Addressed student talking & misbehavior; be sure all students are in compliance before resuming lesson. Awarded Class Dojo points for
students doing well. Give students a range of lines to draw on the wings of the shuttle & suggested width (I.e., finger space) between
curved lines on wings to ensure they will be able to have enough space to paint after tracing lines. Develop tiered system for addressing
behavior & inform students so they are aware of process to help decrease potential for tears. Lesson ended early; work with
cooperating teacher to ensure all activities are well-planned when ending class early

Reminded students of expectations & consistently enforced expectations. Used countdown, docucam, & walked around the room to
keep students on task.
