MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAMME

As we began in September, I have been doing my best to take action during school and spread awareness
about my organization. I have handed out bracelets, colors of blue, the color of anti-bullying and talked
about it with the students pertaining to the 6th, 7th , and 8th grades. I have presented information to them
describing what my goal is, and showing them why this is a growing problem in America. I was the
mentor of these students, I answered any questions they had and helped them understand my project.
I choose this activity because I know that this is an ongoing problem. Educating students about this is the
best way I could think of to spread awareness. I could not volunteer at the organization because I am not
old enough so I did the next best thing. I called the organization and got information about my project.
It showed the students that bullying is not tolerated in many states or even in our school and it shows that
they can talk to someone if they do not feel comfortable with talking to the school counselor, a teacher, or
even your parents. I developed the way to communicate with my peers to show them how important I
think this problem is. I showed them they have to be understanding and caring. They must be reflective on
what they do every day and be careful and cautious of what they say because it might affect someone more
than it should. I showed them to be more open-minded and have more knowledge on this subject; I myself
had to be a thinker and find a way to help the students be interested in my project by doing mini activities
with all the classes I presented to. I have developed my organization skills and helped myself to stop
procrastinating, and showed myself that this is all about fairness and development, how there can be
consequences to our common humanity and it can sometimes affect how someone feels.
