SYNOPSIS
Brief Introduction
In automobile the clutches is a mechanism used to connect or disconnect the power from the
transmission line whenever we want to change the gear. In the heavy traffic condition driver frequently
change the gear. So that the clutch must be actuated. This may give tired to the driver so that some drive
does not operate clutch while changing the gear. Due to this reason the gear teeth may fail. To avoid this we
proposed a system known as air assisted clutch.

Objectives of the Project
To reduce the drivers effort and it will help them at heavy traffic conditions. To reduce clutch
wearness
Brief Methodology
In our system we place a special designed value release value which is operated by the driver
with lower effort. Then this value allows the compressed air from the reservoir to the air chamber. Due to
the air pressure the diaphragm moves the push rod and it is pushed the thrust bearing of clutch against the
spring force. So that the clutch is disengaged. After modifying the gear if we release the value the supply of
air stopped and the air inside the chamber also released. Now the clutch is gets its original position. By
using this system we can reduce the drivers effort and it will help them at heavy traffic conditions. We are
trying to place the value at the top of gearshift lever so that the above operation can be done while the
driver going to change the gear automatically by pressing the clutch pedal so that the driver may give more
concentration on brake and accelerator pedal only.
Expected Outcome
We get Simple construction by this method and its run successfully with low cost. Operator
will be motivated to his duties
